Do they ever take just half a squad to a game and leave the rest in camp and call it "split squad"? I haven't heard of that happening, but I can't say that I know for sure it doesn't. Im pretty sure if the split-squad symbol is after the team name, that means that they are facing a team that has the split squad. That's why next Saturday's game against the White Sox has a split-squad symbol before and after the team name, since the Cubs and White Sox both have a split squad game.
