  1. Nothing ventured nothing gained I guess. Now what if Omar Moreno were on the table? They have a glut of catchers - the Toronto fans/media would crucify them if they traded Kirk - but man is he tubby; he's definitely a graduate of the Hector Villanueva Culinary School of Catching. Has anyone with that body type had any sort of sustained success? Prince Fielder for awhile, I guess. They are also desperate for a LH bat. Happ, Thompson, Robertson? Ortega for good measure? Probably could get them to throw in Kikuchi who has disappointed but lefties that throw 95-96 don't grow on trees and maybe the Cubs have the right magic wand to fix him. I'm not eager to trade Thompson but how good is Moreno?
  2. https://bluejaysnation.com/2022/07/05/pursuing-cubs-relievers-significantly-transform-blue-jays-bullpen/ A Blue Jays website article talking about some Cub arms.
  3. Speaking of mystery injury - Wilson with a tight hamstring.
  4. Wait 'till we find out that Willie was out of the game because he punched the wall and broke his hand.
  5. If running 360 feet causes a professional athlete to not be able to get to a ball 20 minutes later, I don't know what to say. It's not like he didn't run for it - he missed by a couple inches.
  6. Don't really have a point but does circling the bases prevent Suzuki from catching that bloop? Not suggesting he should have held up but just one of those baseball things.
  7. Well if he was #17 on the prospect list there's got to be a Niagara Falls of WS Titles coming...right...right.
  8. I've never encountered anyone that thought Almora was actually good. He never had enough tools to be taken seriously and the ones he had never developed enough (or at all) to matter. Maybe advancing to 2nd in the 10th inning of Game 7 sucked all the potential out of him.
  9. Blue Jays are desperate for Bullpen arms, LH hitting, SPing - Robertson + Ortega? Robertson + Happ? Robertson +Heyward? Is Hendricks available - would anybody care? No one is taking Hewyard unless the Cubs pay his salary. And he now has a bad knee. That's why he was in small font - it was a joke.

  11. He's gotten a little hot - 10/25, 3 dongs - lets see how long it lasts.
  12. I've long felt that draft strategy should entirely be based on how cool a players name is. I've now refined that somewhat and believe that the focus should be on players with animal names.
  13. Irrational Madrigal hatred quickly becoming rational. Barney > Madrigal - Discuss.
  14. Am I crazy or is Wilson great with nobody on and a tire fire otherwise? At least recently.
  15. Yes. When Brennen Davis is ready. So...Tuesday?
  16. o/u his OPS being 700 this year? Definitely under. 1.132 and they resign him for 3 more years.
  17. 0-4, 3 Ks. He hit a rocket line drive to the SS the other time up. BUST! Damnit, he was my last pick in my Yahoo draft. #-o
  18. Never trade with the Rays It's one of the classic blunders It's right up there with “Never get involved in a land war in Asia with a Sicilian when death is on the line” ;)
  19. I think I see the Wisdom in this move. ;)
  20. What stars has Colorado even had? Helton Walker Holliday Tulowitzki Arenado Gonzalez Blackmon Helton and Blackmon never played outside Colorado. Tulo and CarGo were fairly washed up before they left Colorado. The rest have put up good years in STL that weren’t otherwise up to their standards. It’s not much of a sample. True but there’s articles out there that analyze the performance of any player that leaves Colorado and their numbers in general do not change very much. What would be at least as telling to me is: Has any player ever left Colorado and had their numbers improve? Galarraga had his numbers jump significantly at age 32 - especially over his previous 4 seasons - once he hit Colorado - now he did have pretty similar numbers his first year in Atlanta as well.
  21. I like reading facebook comments from people that can't articulate a coherent or original thought so they make false equivalencies in the hopes of sounding provocative. It's like telling me you sister and mother is the same person without stating it.
