  1. ***** RAWDOG 4 EVA!!!!****** Vintage stuff. Some of his best work.
  2. BRILLIANT. Had to go take care of some work when they were down 0-2. 2 more points.
  3. I haven't followed this issue as closely as some, but aren't those essentially the same concessions/assurances that Tunney has sought from the Cubs in the past?
  4. Towers is shifting his attention to stockpiling arms that he can flip for a young, impact bat to play RF. You know ... the thought did cross my mind whether or not they are building up a stockpile to make a run at someone ... say ... Giancarlo Stanton. That would be an interesting turn of events for their offseason, and they have enough pieces to make it interesting. I doubt it, but the thought did cross my mind. You put together a Skaggs and another arm, plus a Davidson, Parra, and a few other pieces, and it's an interesting package. I was joking, but maybe.

  6. I would be pretty upset if I were a Diamondbacks fan. And even more upset at the trades Towers has made this offseason.
  7. This all looks very exciting. Not singling you out, but this is something I hear a lot and I don't understand. I'm not a "purist" by any means, but I really can't see the appeal of a jumbotron in an MLB venue. MLB forbids the replay of close/controversial calls, so what is the allure? Enormous head shots of the player at bat? Encouragement to "Make noise"? Ad revenue is about the only positive I can imagine, and while it is a good thing, it isn't something that excites me as a fan.
  8. Terry Francona and (shudder) Dan Shaughnessy are writing a book.
  9. Per Rotoworld, the Rangers are pulling out of the race for Upton. Perhaps Justin's trying to leverage an opportunity to play with his brother.
  10. LaRoche back to the Nats. Rotoworld says 2 years (no more specific terms available). That would seem to put Morse on the OF trade market. Seems weird to me that the Cubs would (supposedly) trade pitching to get Porcello.
  11. Off topic, but I still can't believe Skip and Rick are brothers. Chicago definitely got the better Bayless.
  12. "Blocked by Nate McLouth" is my favorite.
  13. I'm just pleased to see that the league has done away that stupid piping on the bill.
  14. Short and sweet. Vintage Rawdog.
  15. Unless I'm mistaken (and I may be) would this not push them past the the Yankee's in terms of payroll? I remember reading somewhere that LAD's projected (pre Grienke) payroll was about $192 million.
  16. http://cdn.theatlanticwire.com/img/upload/2012/11/07/biden.gif Excellent.
  17. Would the internet please inform me as to how I should feel about this?
  18. I know managers and coaches vote for the winner, but how are candidates decided upon? And were there really 10 AL teams with full time catchers who played worse defense than A.J. Pierzynski?

Irrespective of what the Cubs actually plan to do with Baez, he's clearly more valuable as a SS. It would be unwise (particularly in terms of trade value) to project the impression that the organization is skeptical of his ability to stick there.
  20. http://media.mlive.com/news/detroit_impact/photo/9083122-large.jpg Mad max times or not, [expletive] the lions.
  21. Scutaro's arm was definitely moving forward when Holliday jarred the ball loose. Should've been ruled an incomplete pass.
  22. Bah. It's not as though the Yanks lost a cornerstone player like Pete Kozma.
  23. I like it much better when Matt Holliday fucks up a routine fly ball and the cards lose a playoff game.
  24. I've felt this one-game playoff idea was garbage since it was unveiled. This game is pretty much why.
  25. 9 K for Wood in 5 2/3. What a weird game.
