I know they paid him overslot but Shoulders in the 25th round is starting to look like found money. Here's hoping he keeps it up. Interesting (in my opinion) side note: Theo and Co. drafted Shoulders in 2010 (20th round).
I don't like the results, but I do like Sveum. I know its a low bar to pass, but never in my experience have I heard a manager say stuff like this: "It's not batting average. It's the on-base and the slugging percentage."
I don't know which is more absurd: The suggestion that the rooftops "produce" anything, or the failure to acknowledge that the objections of rooftop owners are precisely what is preventing Wrigley from being renovated.
Maybe I'm just being optimistic, but I expect that this will ultimately be a short suspension and a learning experience for Soler. Scouts have heretofore raved about his maturity. Better he lose it in A+ than MLB.
