  1. has there ever been a player as good as pujols who sucked as long as pujols did?
  2. I don't live in the area anymore and don't get Marquee but Len was a mercenary just like everyone else. I remember him doing a nationally televised cubs game and had to get excited for any big play for or against the Cobs. Surprised he didn't end up going to the Brew Crew. i know he was just a mercenary too, but the reason he didn't act excited for good cubs plays during nationally televised games was because he had to remain impartial. all announcers do that.
  3. boog is a good announcer but he doesn't have any attachment to the team yet and it makes the calls feel weird sometimes. or maybe i just miss old friend len
  4. their pitching is still pretty loaded if they don't start breaking
  5. the hockey rules are also great in the regular season. stop being a stick in the mud and try to recognize fun things 7 inning double headers are also a great idea dude i dont find it any more enjoyable to have a runner on 2nd to start an inning. It's dumb. NHL OT format changed because most 5 minute OTs were ending in ties. Most extra inning game are resolved after 1-2 extra innings. The ones that arent are honestly more enjoyable to me because quirky horsefeathers happens what quirky horsefeathers happens that doesnt already happen in baseball? It's just giving each team a lead off double, it doesnt really change the game at all, it just increases the action until the game is over. Extra inning baseball games are way too much baseball
  6. haha the cubs get buehler/kershaw/bauer in the next 3
  7. its horsefeathering dumb made up BS. Everyone will learn to accept it just like they do shootouts and then 3-on-3 OTs in hockey, and the bizarre CFB OT rules. But that doesnt make it any less dumb. the hockey rules are also great in the regular season. stop being a stick in the mud and try to recognize fun things 7 inning double headers are also a great idea
  8. btw boog is boring and everything is bad
  9. the extra inning rule is great, it just seems bad because it exploits the weakness that the cubs front office refuses to fix
  10. brewers find a way to win close games, cubs find a way to lose them. story of the post-ws cubs
  11. About how many wins should we be looking at for the bears next year? Just guess. Does fields move the needle very much in his first year?
  12. so many known scrubs start in the cubs lineup every day
  13. yeah raw is supposed to hang dong now
  14. I didn't even realize that Washington is going to beat them out for the last play-in spot. I know zach is out but this wasnt a very confidence inspiring first season for BD. I wonder where the bulls and knicks would be in the standings if they switched coaches.
  15. so what happens after this year? I havent even seen people talk about what they realistically expect. are we doing a full rebuild, or will the ricketts actually spend some money to reboot with a different group? like, I have no idea what we are doing. a full rebuild kind of seems inevitable, since the ricketts have been eyeing that from the moment we won the world series.
  16. love to watch an offense rot for years and do nothing about it
  17. they're going to lose the series while outscoring them by like 10, because that's who the post-ws cubs are. I never imagined after 2016 that the cubs would spend the next half decade struggling to be ahead of the brewers
  18. my point is that there was no reason to think he'd get expensive, but i'm not going to argue about the nothingness that is david bote
  19. it's only regular season so who cares, but that twins loss today was unbelievable.
  20. it's a waste, we should have him for cheaper We do have him for $10 mil cheaper than the price you quoted! frankly my dear, i don't really give a horsefeathers
  21. Bote is perfectly fine at the money he makes it's a waste, we should have him for cheaper
  22. sounds like toews is back next season
