  1. The same Magic announcers that were just questioning the Bulls decision to foul when they were trailing with less than 24 seconds left and a turned off shot clock?
  2. AKA Gordon being Gordon
  3. Are these Magic announcers for real? They were just questioning the decision to foul. Umm, there was 23 seconds left guys.
  4. There goes Noc for about 6 weeks.
  5. Deng is garbage. Also, Del Negro still has the "I can't believe I talked my way into a head coaching job" look on his face.
  6. I don't get why this is an issue.
  7. I'm not as excited about Burnett as everyone else seems to be, especially for the crazy money teams are lined up to pay him. Assuming Dempster's year wasn't a total fluke, Dempster will be $3-$4 million cheaper per year for 1-2 less years. You really think Burnett is going to go for insane money? I certainly see Sheets and Sabathia going for insane dollar amounts, but i'm not sure how I feel about Burnett. He had his worst year since 03 last year so possibly his price tag will be a little less? Or maybe that's just wishful thinking.         career high 18 w's mon frere, the guy finally figured out how to win #-o tree is clearly being sarcastic. BUt that's how GM's are gonna see it. Where is the "clear" sarcasm? You must know him better than I do. clearly. tree is one of the smartest baseball posters on here. I don't doubt it, I'm just not familiar with him and I have seen people on here make statements like that before and actually mean it.
  8. Roy Williams DO SOMETHING YOU PIECE OF TRASH

  11. What don't you understand about it? Fukudome doesn't hit enough to be a right fielder. By moving him to center, it allows Hendry to go out and get a RF who can actually hit. Good hitting right fielders are much easier to find than good hitting center fielders. Plus in center he'll have a platoon partner so he won't have to face lefties. Why would you want to keep him in RF when that's the position where upgrades are available?
  12. Then why is he always wrong?
  13. Then the casual fan is stupid. Yes, that's right I said stupid. Shootouts disrupts the continuity of the game. It's an embarrassment to the game of Hockey, and to it's tradition. And no I know I won't "get over it" because it's stupid. Might as well say...hey baseball, when the 9th inning is over, were going to have homerun derby. If hockey wants to increasing scoring, how about making the rinks international size, which is bigger then the NHL size, or instead of it being 5 on 5, make it 4 on 4 on NHL size ice. No need for shootout, period. I won't get over it, until it's gone. I rather see a tie then some carnival parade that is the shootout. Couldn't have said it better. Like I said... why should a 1 v 1 decide the outcome of a team sport? So do you think walkoff home runs shouldn't count?
  14. The Padres would be better off hanging onto Peavy than trading him to the Cubs.
  15. I'd be curious to know your reasoning for this. because he... like... gives up home runs and junk. unacceptable
  16. What did he have, 5 or 6 no hitters? 7 no-no's. Forgot to add that. When you think of Nolan Ryan you think of one of the most dominating pitchers of all time, and it's a shock to see that he's never had a Cy Young award. He could certainly be dominant, but he also had 292 losses and 2,795 walks in his career. He finished most seasons right around .500. Why are you paying attention to a pitcher's W-L record?
  17. I have 2 questions for you. 1) If Soriano leading off is so crippling to an offense, then how did the Cubs lead the NL in runs this season? 2) The Phillies have gotten a .250 .288 .429 line out of the leadoff spot this postseason. How can they possible be one win away from a title? I bet that blows your mind. BTW, the AL Champion Rays have gotten .258 .333 .403 out of the leadoff spot in the playoffs. Look dude, we get it. I think most people here would agree that Soriano is a frustrating player with a terrible contract. The problem is that you're drastically overemphasizing the importance of a leadoff hitter. Seriously guy, it's not that important.
  18. Really? We had no idea you felt that way. Anyways, I'd say the majority of the people on this board agree with what you just said.
  19. I don't care what anybody says...I'd love Grace in the booth.
  20. Or until they have a core of players who don't get freaked out the second the playoffs start.
  21. Last offseaosn didn't you pretty much guarantee Zambrano's ERA wouldn't be under 4 this year?
  22. Umm, why would the Orioles trade Roberts for Harden in the first place? That makes no sense.
  23. If you disagree, explain why. That response adds nothing. I'm going to later. I just didn't know where to start and figured I'd give someone else the first crack at it.
  24. If Wood is really demanding a 3rd guaranteed year at big money then screw him. He's taken enough money from from this organization. Hasn't everybody been praising him about how he took less money to stay in Chicago and felt bad about his injury plagued past? If he doesn't take a hometown discount then let him walk and sing Fuentes. I'd feel more comfortable with Fuentes as the closer going into the season than I would with Wood.
