  1. good to see kane finally burying those open looks.... something he wasn't doing for the last 2/3 of the season
  2. The second best season of Lee's career came the year after the wrist injury.
  3. Who did those guys end up with? Hopefully Lou will have one of his panic moments with Fontenot after tonight's performance and eliminate him from starting third like he did with Hoffpauir in right.
  4. Heilman is still walking a lot of guys and not missing many bats. That's why I said he's been "alright". If he keeps walking as many as he K's, he's not going to end up being very good. As far as DeRo goes, we know he's going to hit. Don't try to act like part of the reason he was traded was because he was a question mark. He's a proven hitter. Fontenot is not a proven hitter. We knew Pie and Cedeno sucked and I didn't even mention them in my post, so I don't know why you're bringing them up. Also, what's with the Dempster/Marquis comparison? Did Marquis just get some huge deal like Dempster did? And no, Bradley is not the only problem with the offseason moves. Giving Miles 2/5 was a problem. Trading for Gregg and his salary is a problem, when you consider we dumped DeRo to save money. Not having any depth is a problem. Trading away Gaudin for a crappy A ball reliever because he had a good spring is a problem. Oh and by the way, if Bradley was really brought in to be the guy who hits RHP, then that's another big problem. Bradley career vs LHP- .302/.386/.502 (.887) Bradley career vs RHP- .269/.362/.435 (.798) Oh look at that. After all that talk about wanting to get more left handed, they take a huge risk on a guy who doesn't even hit righties well.
  5. Funny how we can waste a roster space on Gathright as Ramirez is injured and we have no backup 3B.
  6. 2 more walks tonight
  7. The fact that Miles can't even play 3B makes his contract that much more embarrassing. He is literally worthless.
  8. That way we can actually have a guy out there who can at least play a major league 3B even if he's sucking at the plate. Fontenot is completely worthless at the plate and he is not a third baseman, period. He just cost Lilly 4 runs because he thought he was playing second. The fact that we have a payroll this huge and zero depth is a joke.
  9. I haven't been able to watch the first period.... who t getting outplayed? I know the Hawks are up 2-0 but it says they're being outshot 15-7. What's the deal?
  10. Oh, no it's not. Everyone in their lineup will hit over .300 like they are now. Their team ERA is bound to remain at 3.50 for the remainder of the season. That's really good, but then I expect nothing less of players exposed to LaRussa and Duncan. I just wonder how they failed to do that last year. You mean when they won 86 games in an awesome division? Yes, that's exactly what I mean. At their absolute best, with guys like Wellemeyer, Lohse and Looper carrying a heavy load, they were still worse than the 2007 Cubs. Huh? The 07 Cubs won 85 games in a terrible division. The 08 Cards won 86 games in a stacked division.
  11. I read somewhere during the offseason that Braun's goal for the upcoming season was to be more patient and draw more walks. It's too early to tell how legit this new Braun is, but so far he's walked 11 times in 68 bats. Not really a point to this post, but he's going to be a very scary hitter if he keeps this up.

  13. Good luck Chad. Time to make Hendry look worse than he already does. before the season started you kept saying we should dump gaudin so we could keep patton
  14. def the most uninteresting of the 8 first round series
  15. dempster didn't just have one bad start. he's just been not good.
  16. holy crap did you see walker's finger? disgusting. loved the reaction from the chicks behind the bench
  17. it was only a matter of time. these 2 power plays have been awesome
  18. lol sarich they're scoring on this pp
  19. This- Combined with this- Make it sound like Aramis is likely headed to the DL
  20. You mean for the fraction of the season that Ramirez will probably be out
  21. Didn't look like a big deal
