  1. He barely even argued the blown call at 3rd either. Actually, he was smiling and joking around with Sanchez. WTF is that?
  2. Dempster- 4/52 Bradley- 3/30 Gregg- 1/4.2 Miles- 2/5 Dunn- 2/20 Unreal
  3. Give it the season and then evaluate at that point. I've given this group 2 full seasons and 6 postseason games And they've won 182 games in that time. To this point they've done little to prove they're not a talented group. For all we know, they could turn it on, win 85-90 games and win the World Series. Or they could flop and barely reach 70 wins. We don't know how this season will turn out right now. But after 182 wins in two years Hendry deserves more time than 43 games this year. I know, I'm just saying that I don't see this mix winning a championship, and now I'm wondering if they'll even be able to overcome this season to make the playoffs. I thought before the season even started though that we weren't winning a title with this core. It's going to have to be a bunch of guys like when the Red Sox won in 2004. Yeah of course they were stacked as hell and had a monster team, but to be able to handle the pressure of what the Cubs face every season and what the Red Sox faced at the time, you needed a special type of team. I don't see it from this team. I think these guys are chokers. You can say "oh it's a small sample size blah blah they won 97 games", and that's true, but you can't tell me that they didn't choke in the playoffs the last 2 years. From the first pitch in each series they looked scared. They couldn't handle the moment. I hope that maybe if they win one playoff game and break the ice they could turn it around, but I don't know. Most of the core guys seem like chokers to me.

  5. Kind of sad to watch a man's mind slipping rapidly
  6. Now Ozzie Guillen, that's a guy that cares!! We know because he blows his top and acts like an idiot. Let's argue and get thrown out of a game. Maybe throw at the other team just for the heck of it. That will turn this losing streak around! I thought the argument was that Lou is no good for this team because he is too uptight and makes panic decisions? Now the argument is that he not uptight enough and doesn't care? I'm saying right now he doesn't care. And when I say "he doesn't care" it's obviously hyperbole. Of course he cares, but it really seems like the fire is gone. Freel clearly got the out at 3rd and Lou barely even argues. WTF is that? Oh and I love how we are PHing with Zambrano because we just HAVE to keep Patton as the extra pitcher on the roster.... even though he hasn't pitched in 2 weeks.
  7. I can agree with the people that say it's not a good idea to make a change just to make a change, but I don't see how this current team/mix is winning anything, let alone a world series.
  8. Now after a blown call Lou blows up! Oh wait, no he doesn't. He slowly walks out, makes a half hearted attempt to argue, cracks jokes with the other team, and slowly walks back to the dugout. He just doesn't care.
  9. Yup... after tonight's masterful performance by Lou I'm convinced he's done. I mean he's still there managain, but not really. I can't wait until he's gone. He has no clue what he's doing. Let Ascanio hit for himself? Sure! Bring in the worst reliever on the team when we're trying to win for the first time in over a week? Sure!
  10. I seriously feel like Lou is one bad loss away from saying "eff it, I'm done. I quit". Even earlier in the season when we had that one rough spell he was getting pissed... really pissed. Right now he just continues to sit on his ass in the dugout with the same blank stae as things fall apart on the field. Dempster walks in 2 runs and he just sits there. No emotion whatsoever. Earlier in the season he'd have either pulled him right then, or at least gotten pissed off and showed some emotion. Now he's just like "oh well, an 8 game losing streak isn't much worse than a 7 game losing streak." Either way, I bet we're witnessing the end of the Lou era here. I don't see him coming back next season if we miss the playoffs this year.
  11. Umm Wood is a much better pitcher than Gregg. Even at his worst, Wood's peripherals are better than Gregg.
  12. I don't see a big trade happening. The Cubs have been reluctant to take on new payroll with ownership still in flux. We have little in the minors to offer, and trading one of the few pieces we do have seems shortsighted. It's time for some of the players we already have to simply start playing better. Jeff Stevens, Kevin Hart, Greg Reinhard, and even Aaron Heilman could be quite usefull to teams looking for bullpen help. Jake Fox should entice many AL teams. We also have several AA and below prospects that a lot of teams would be interested in. if we had pieces that could help a bullpen, don't you think we'd be using them for our own bullpen?
  13. I think that's the case for most of our offense. They all have had similar seasons as Fontenot to this point (patience is there but all of them have been incredibly unlucky). Once some balls start falling in, the numbers will improve, runs will start being scored again and we'll start winning some games. Baseball is such a fickle game, though, that there's really not much a team/manager/GM can do in stretches like this and desperation efforts often only worsen the impact. I don't know... I'm really worried about Soto. He came out of nowhere so he could turn back into crap just as quickly.
  14. i heard that jake fox saved the lives of 32 children tonight
  15. wait, what? especially to the cashner part
  16. Fontenot is probably one of the least worrisome guys to me. We saw over the last 2 seasons that he can be doing awful and have awful numbers, then get red hot and pump his numbers way back up. With the pretty good walk and home run totals still there, his overall numbers could get respectable in a hurry. Just needs one nice hot streak. I think it's only a matter of time, and I still think he'll finish the season with an OPS close to .800
  17. It almost seems like he's given up, too. I keep waiting for him to get pissed off in the postgame but every day the losing streak gets longer he just sounds like he cares less and less. "Well uhh... we'll try to a few other things... the pitching was..uhhh.. play...but we need to score more runs". At least show that you still care. Get fired up. I feel like he is totally drained, career wise.
  18. he's not paid like a backup goalie
  19. He'll be here pretty soon to tell us the season is over. umm, it's not? they had a good run, but the wings are just too much, especially without khabibulin. this season was still a huge success. i hope they can find a way to extend it to game 6 so they can at least lose on home ice and get what should be a standing o afterwards for the great season theyve had.
  20. during the regular season he didn't suck. he sucked today hard and i kind of figured he would if he started. he failed just as badly when he faced the wings at wrigley
  21. well, campbell was saying it was dirty because his arm came up...something brian didn't do on the umberger hit. he kept his shoulder down
  22. Only if you want to keep losing games
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KJm-qcnnC0&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fsports.yahoo.com%2Fnhl%2Fblog%2Fpuck_daddy%2Fpost%2FVideo-Kronwall-s-devastating-hit-on-Havlat-in-G%3Furn%3Dnhl%2C165417&feature=player_embedded lol @ 2:55
  24. You are taking pleasure in Wood's struggles...why? I'm not taking pleasure in it. The sig is a reminder that we aren't missing anything in Wood right now You have no idea how he's be performing if he was with us. His stuff has been fine.
