  1. they outscored the opposition by 100 runs (and are bringing the majority of the good parts back), have money to spend, and have a top farm system. I understand being pessimistic about the team actually going for it, but I don't agree with the idea that they aren't building towards anything. I also don't think they have as many holes to fill as you suggest. I don't think they are many peices off from a 90 win team. we would have won that many this year if not for a flawed bullpen (worsened by late injuries), not playing our best team early in the season, and absurdly bad luck.
  2. most of those guys will probably suck. you really would consider passing on a star bat because of that group of players?
  3. it's been constant for me too, especially after the bears lost
  4. this is kind of awesome tbh
  5. need denver to keep scoring so the bears keep throwing
  6. buck isn't coming back to the mets. there are some guys out there if we want to fire ross
  7. if anything has ever been rigged for chicago (it hasn't), it was d-rose
  8. why do you keep bringing up candelario? he will not factor into the decision of whether or not they will go for a big bat or two there are a million ways they could add offense to the lineup if Bellinger leaves, especially with the dh. there is no reason to think Jed will lose Bellinger and then do nothing.
  9. If he brings candelario back, he's not going to be counting on that as some significant offensive move. and bats don't have to come from free agency.
  10. jed isn't braindead. if the cubs lose their best hitter, he's going to find at least one good bat
  11. there is zero chance this is the lineup next year, come on
  12. still blows my mind that we lucked into bedard despite not deserving it at all
  13. no chance. despite the collapse, this season was positive for our future. they are right there, they just need to be pushed over the edge.
  14. i think i'd be okay with it if i knew they werer going to spend and get at least 1 other good bat
  15. better to end it now than to blow it in Milwaukee in the playoff. hopefully missing the playoffs will force Jed the be more aggressive and stop sitting on prospects
  16. it would be wild if it came down to the marlins needing to close out monday's game to make it. imagine waiting all day for a half inning that could be over either way in 2 minutes.
