  1. i just wanna put my face in it
  2. it would be so typical of the cubs to interrupt his development right when he's starting to dominate as a starter
  3. he still looks like a pitcher
  4. Even with the awful year last year, Soriano's 2009 was better than 2 of the past 3 years for Wells. Soriano has posted OPS' of .726, .876 and .897 the past three years. Wells has posted OPS' of .711, .840 and .706. Wells has had two really good seasons (.909 OPS in 2003 and .899 OPS in 2006) that have really helped his career numbers. Besides those two years, he's been a .760-.800 OPS guy. I'd rather take the chance that Soriano – the significantly better hitter throughout his career – rebounds from one bad year than that Wells rebounds from 2 out of 3 bad years. Went to today's game and watched Soriano really butcher plays out in LF. He may rebound offensively, but his defense is just brutal. i really need to get to a game so i can confirm this defense of his
  5. i see the sharks are up to their usual playoff antics
  6. i think noah wants to go to the playoffs
  7. In an ESPN interview I just heard McGwire say "I truly believe this game is 98% mental".
  8. does anybody know where i can get a bradley cubs shirtzee? (seriously, i want one)
  9. Well, I'd argue that the Cardinals are. I rank the Phillies #1 and the Cardinals a fairly close #2...and I think there's a pretty big drop-off after that. But that's a different discussion. What I was saying is that the Cardinals have about as good of a chance of winning the NL Central as the Phillies have of winning the NL East. I don't think any of the other 4 divisions have a clear favorite (of course, 2nd place in the AL East will still get you into the postseason). how many very good players do the cardinals have? 4? the cards are pretty much carp/wainwright/pujols/holliday and then a bunch of filler (though rasmus is looking pretty good so far). the phillies look pretty stacked to me.
  10. milton with the GW 3 run bomb!
  11. why does it have to be a big market team that trades for him? we've seen lots of blockbuster trades with stud players going to teams that didn't extend them. I'm not really remembering many, which trades are you talking about? CC? Teixeira? holliday (when oakland got him) soriano (when washington got him)
  12. why does it have to be a big market team that trades for him? we've seen lots of blockbuster trades with stud players going to teams that didn't extend them.
  13. but the important thing is that there WILL be a bidding war. there wasn't really a bidding war for peavy. the braves had a deal worked out but the refusal to let Peavy keep his NTC broke it up. the cubs seemingly would have gotten him if not for the ownership situation. then when the sox got him, there weren't really any rumors at all of anybody competing with them. also, gonzalez will be a much more attractive player at this deadline than peavy was when he was traded. peavy had lots of question marks around him.
  14. i was questioning his masculinity because of his inability to admit the real reason he has (twice) posted bradley's stats. i think it's pretty obvious why he posted them (twice).
  15. on the overhead view you could see noah smiling through the net
  16. hinrich steppin up
  17. that was clean
  18. They can ask, but they will get a no on Castro. But the Cubs, IMO, still have enough to land AGon without including Castro. Ah. Why in the world do you think that, again? Vitters/Brett Jackson/ and two B prospects is more then enough to land AGone ummm peavy had a NTC that killed Towers in that situation, not to mention health concerns and a big contract. i mean, towers had what... like 2 or 3 teams that he could trade peavy to? gonzalez is a completely different situation.
  19. WHAT THE [expletive] DID SHEED JUST DO?!
  20. But you don't care or pay much attention..... I didn't even think about him till I saw this thread. It took 30 seconds to look up his average. I am not rooting for him or against him. I just thought I would update his stats since nobody had. ^^shrugs^^ you sound like you really lack a sack
  21. i'm not even necessarily talking about a traumatic childhood. sometimes people are just born with brains that work in ways that they can't ultimately control
  22. rose with one of the best dunks of his career
  23. I wouldn't put them with the Phillies in that sense
  24. I'm with imb.... the reason for Bradley acting like he does is probably very sad. I just feel bad for him. He doesn't seem like a bad person to me. He just has severe mental issues that likely stem from things out of his control.
