  1. You're right, they'd never beat a decent team, especially on the road, with a shooting night like that. yes because winning one game in the regular season is exactly the same as beating a team 4 out of 7 times in the postseason great post You specifically asked if they could beat boston/miami/orlando with Rose going 8-21 or similar...and he and they did exactly that against both Orlando and Miami this year. i was obviously asking if they could beat them in a playoff series, not a single regular season game. and you say i'm being ignorant? or i'm concerned that the guy who will have to carry us in the postseason is now shooting below 44% if rose played for any other team, you guys would be saying the same stuff.
  2. haha. you're right, the shot selection isn't the problem. he just isn't a three point shooter, yet he's taking them at a crazy rate. he's trying to force the three pointer to be part of his game. Well he has to do SOMETHING with the ball. He stops taking all these threes you're worried about and he's playing right into the teeth of the defense that is sagging off and playing the drive. The threes don't exist in a vacuum. preferably something that doesn't involve brick after brick
  3. I literally haven't seen him force it at all. Seriously, any #1 perimeter scorer worth his salt takes those shots. All of them. you aren't even making sense. first of all, i never said he's forcing up the shots. he's getting good looks, he's not making them. why? because rose isn't a three point shooter. he's NOT a perimeter scorer.

  6. i don't read hollinger and you don't "need" to take the open 3 if you are kissing them over and over and over. rose shot well from three for like.... 2 months? he sucked his first 2 years, and he sucks this year. i think he's forcing it to be part of his game even though it's hurting him.
  7. i don't believe you can win a championship with your playmaker/star player shooting below 44% that's what i'm worried about. same with the 3's. i'm worried he's going to be jacking up 5 3's a game in the playoffs even though he sucks at them. you guys think we can beat boston/miami/orlando with rose going 8-21 or something like that? i don't
  8. how many teams in nhl history have finished with a top 5 goal differential and missed the playoffs? are we going to be the first?
  9. his fg% dropped below 44% tonight (now .438) i'm officially worried, even though everyone seems to want to pretend that he hasn't been horribly inefficient for a while now. also, 0-5 from 3 again.
  10. how about 40 games. is that a big enough sample size for you? last 40 games- 4.92 attempts per game 29.4 percent so for the last 40 games, he's making 3's at a horrible rate, yet he's taking them as much as almost anybody. you don't see a problem with that? i don't get why you can't mention this about rose, even though it's obviously something that is bringing his game down. i'm not talking [expletive] about rose, i'm pointing out an obvious flaw. he's taking 5 three's a game and he hasn't shown in his nba career so far that he can make them. so why is everyone so defensive when i bring it up?
  11. small sample size. take out that monster first quarter against the jazz and those numbers look a lot different. in january he took 5.1 three's a game at only 25% in march so far he's taking 6.6 a game at 28.3% not trashing him, just saying. he's taking a ridiculous amount of 3's right now for a guy who isn't making them. it's hurting his game, plain and simple. he's be better if he stopped taking so many.
  12. He took quite a few of them when the game was already well in hand. I don't really understand why Thibs had Rose in there up until a minute remaining in the game. i'm just worried that rose is going to keep taking so many 3's in the playoffs. he hasn't been making them since he injured his wrist but he's still taking a ridiculous amount of them. that's why his fg% keeps plummeting.
  13. please stop taking so many 3's, derrick
  14. again, point totals are meaningless. it's ppg.
  15. damn, 21 three point attempts in the last 2 games for rose
  16. he needs to stop taking so many 3's. took 9 tonight. he doesn't have to give up on it, but he should be taking like 2 a game instead of 4 or 5.
  17. just realized how brutal our schedule is the rest of the way. holy [expletive]
  18. hawks aren't aren't really tied with calgary and phoenix. ppg is what's important.
  19. now that i see the replay, i don't know if that st. louis goal should have counted. you can do the spin move.... but he actually spun, then deked the puck back a little bit so he could lift it
  20. 1st question, I think it hit the top of the glass and bounced back in. I think that means it shouldnt be a penalty. It's only out if it gets to the netting or into the crowd right? The Hawks announcers were pretty convinced it wasn't a penalty. that what i was wondering. they only showed the replay once at the stadium and it was hard to tell if the puck hit the top of the glass or the bottom of the net. when i saw the replay it looked like net to me, bu i only saw that one angle.
  21. oh, and the shootout attempts from st louis and stamkos were awesome. don't act like you wouldn't love it if kane and toews did that. plus, they weren't really gimmicky. a lot of people do that move now on shootouts and it works a lot. it beat crawford both times tonight, he just got lucky with one hitting the post
  22. was at this game. stadium was (surprisingly) completely full, and about 50% were hawks fans. question- was hjalmarsson's penalty at the end of regulation? he was FLIPPING OUT in the penalty box... throwing equipment, smashing his stick on the glass, etc. they only showed one replay in the stadium and it was hard to tell if the puck hit the net. also, was there a point of the game where a blackhawk player stopped a shot on a wide open net with his stick? it was at the other end of the ice and they never showed a replay, but everybody was wondering wtf happened and how the puck didn't go in.
  23. the heat just went down at home again
  24. Hmmm...their SBnation blog doesn't seem to be too rough. Heh, they had a bullet point in the recap ripping the Bulls and how easy they are to defend and would struggle to get out of the first round if they depended on Rose so much, but it appears the author deleted it. Wait why do Hornet's Fans hate Rose and the Bulls? probably because they feel threatened by rose in regards to cp3
