    35 year old Reed Johnson batting almost .350 is totally for real. Something just clicked for him I guess. It would be just like the braindead Cubs to let him walk so we can give the job to another fail-waiting-to-happen prospect like Brett Jackson. None of this would even be an issue if we had held on to Josh Hamilton.

    His 2010 was only a little better than his 2009. He just hit more runs. He also walked less and struck out more. Either way, neither of those 2 seasons were close to the season he had in all 4 previous years.

    He's "fine" is the sense that he's still a good player, but he's not even close to what he used to be. His walk rate has dropped and his K rate has gone through the roof. Wright's first 5 seasons: .309/.389/.533 Wright's last 3 seasons .287.366/.468 Almost a 100 point dropoff in total OPS, and it happens right after he turns 26? So I ask again... what the hell happened to David Wright?

    Yea, I'm near St. Pete and thats one everyone says. Doesn't mean much though. The Cubs position is just a signficantly better opportunity all around. The Rays this year are a pretty good example of why he's eventually going to have to leave, pretty much. The Rays are a very good team this season and still aren't remotely close to the playoffs.

    The minor league system sucks because they always give away their picks in compensation for signing Type A/B free agents. There was always kind of a disconnect between the Steinbrenners and Cashman. Cashman is more player-development orientated than casual fans think. He manages the Yankees, so they just assume his philosophy is to spend blindly, and that's not really true. Didn't he almost leave the Yankees a few years ago because he wanted to build up the farm system and George wanted to keep spending on whatever was avilable each offseason?
