  1. Yeah probably until this offseason or next years trade deadline please, do explain The Indians, after a hot start, have gone 22-36 since then. They probably aren't that good, and will likely eventually learn that themselves, and when they realize that and realize that Ubaldo has the most value on their team, they will probably put him back on the market again. why do the yankees have an advantage over other teams in acquiring him via trade?
  2. what the i don't even
  3. I wouldn't have much interest in trading those guys either.
  4. Oh, it was definitely a great move. I'm not complaining about it. I'm just saying that in the short term, it is going to hurt us, just because Campbell is a good player. As far as long term, this offseason was great. We got out of Campbell's contract and only gave out small contracts. I was just disappointed that we didn't come away with more quality depth, but like others have said.... there wasn't much out there, so they were probably smart to sign all the cheap one year deals and save assets to improve the team when better opportunities arrive.
  5. Bulls announcers said "Michael" for years Michael is Michael. Brandon is not Brandon.
  6. pirates alone in first!
  7. how has it gotten a good deal better? who was the best player we got? andrew brunette? steve montador? i think we're going to miss campbell a lot more than people realize.
  8. i hated that contract at the time, but it ended up being pretty solid
  9. i love the three point contest so i'll definitely be watching this
  10. michael brantley is still talking about "clutch"? i don't think he's allowed to talk about that word after the edwin encarnacion incident a few years ago
  11. campoli not coming back? i don't think there's any way you can say this team has gotten better this offseason. i guess we'll just have to hope for rebound years from guys like keith/seabrook/hjalm, etc. this is disappointing.
  12. I figured it was because they got a first round draft pick for Troy Brouwer. But it will probably be one of the last first round picks. I think he would have had more value to us on the roster this upcoming season. The deeper the team is, the better. They already used the pick on a guy they wanted. It was about value for a replacable player, not getting rid of Brouwer. And like I said, I think Brouwer had more value to next season's team than the value we got for him. We have plenty of young talent, we needed to be adding quality depth for this years team, not dumping it.

  14. Judging by the recent comments from Bowman and Q, it sounds like the Hawks are basically done shopping. I'm kind of disappointed in this offseason. I loved the Campbell trade the Brunette signing, but I don't really understand the rest. The whole thing was to get quality depth, right? Did we really do that? Carcillo can play a little bit, but it seems like most of the depth we added were 4tt line quality goons. I was fine with the Brouwer trade at the time, but now I don't get it. We have plenty of room to fit him in, and he's a solid depth guy. When we traded him I figured it was to clear more space for other moves, but apparently that's not the case. On paper, I don't think we've gotten better at all. Even though the Campbell trade was a good one, it's still a significant loss to next year's team. Montador is a nice replacement, but he doesn't bring to the table what Campbell can. As much as we trashed Campbell early on in his contract, he was fantastic the last 2 seasons. Not worth what he was getting, but still well above average player. I think Kujay mentioned earlier in the offseaosn that he wa skind of worried that this would be the year where we try to save some money to make up for all the spending in recent years. It looks like that's happening. I understand it and I can't say I'm angry with it, but it's still a bummer. I just don't feel like we added quality depth or improved the team from last year. I mean, we didn't even add a center (yet), and from Bowman and Q's comments, it sounds like theyre telling everyone that they're perfectly fine with playing Sharp at center and sticking with the rest that we have. I think that's a mistake.
  15. rose was good in the indiana series?
  16. Keep: Dempster, Castro, Marmol, Garza, Soto Only trade if we somehow get surprisingly good value: Zambrano, Byrd, Ramirez Take what you can get for the rest of the team. If you miraculously get someone to take on like 70% or more of Soriano's contract... do it, even if you're the one giving prospects with him.
  17. man, he couldn't have gone down at a worse angle i wish i didnt watch that video. the little kid's reaction was disturbing. it looked so innocent, like he was just watching his dad take a little tumble and would get right back up.
  18. rey ordonez named to nl all-star team (for defense)
  19. i am not a macheen. i am al-bert
  20. if that ends up being the case, the sharks are going to be reeaalllly good
  21. it just seems like havlat hasn't been the same since kronwall deleted him
  22. seems kind of risky for a lateral move. both guys are the same age, but heatley has played 80+ games in 5 of the last 6 years (71 in the other year), and havlet is still havlat despite staying "healthy" most of last season. considering both are wingers and are both about the same caliber players, i don't really see the point. havlat has a lower cap hit and earns less than heatley, but he also has an additional year on his contract. on a semi-related note, i'm still very happy we chose hossa over havlat.
  23. i'm convinced that hendry is never going to get fired.
