  1. are they delusional enough to have hope of winning this series? yeah, they could've won that game, but come on. if it were baseball where either team can realistically win any series, that would've been way more heartbreaking, i agree, but it's the nba. that being the case, 2003 nlcs g6 and g7 losses were both way more painful to anyone with any grasp on reality. even if they're destined to lose this series and lebron, it still would have been an awesome memory to see him drop 50 and steal the first game. i doubt their heavy underdog status makes it much less painful.
  2. have the cubs ever had a loss as painful as that? considering the imminent threat of lebron leaving, i can't imagine how bad it must feel for fans of that team
  3. horsefeathers the cards and everything but i actually enjoyed that. hurdle & co have made it really fun to watch that team lose.
  4. Yes, I enjoyed watching this awesome basketball game very much, thanks for asking. well the game itself was fun, but imagine if it actually meant something
  5. i wonder if mojo had fun watching one of the best performances in finals history rendered completely meaningless by a pointless series
  6. that is a historic blunder
  7. how many breaks do the warriors need to win a title
  8. he is the best of all time
  9. brewers win by 1, cubs lose by 1, and it just keeps going
  10. every time i start feeling confident in cobs they have a turd game like this
  11. i am so horsefeathering sick of this idiot
  12. it's crazy how much the intrigue level of the finals hinges on tonight's game
  13. they're finishing up the easiest part of the schedule right now, so i don't know how you can assume this. They’ve played a harder schedule than everyone else in the central except the Reds look at who they've played in recent weeks and then look at who they have coming up. it's like we're simultaneously saying the cardinals and brewers suck while also saying our schedule has been tough because we've played them a lot.
  14. saying anything other than "the cubs will obviously win 90+ games and the brewers are 100% trash" is seen as freaking out. the "it's only _____" thing just becomes annoying at a certain point, because it has a way of always being pushed back. plus, injuries happen, and we might be seeing with darvish. they need to be winning games and not assuming they'll come later, because it not happening would be far from the weirdest thing to happen in baseball this year. No you’re right keep being overly worried about a team playing at an 88 win pace for the season while statistically looking like a 95+ win team. Yeah the Darvish injury is concerning but let’s not act like you just starting being concerned today. All I’m saying is like maybe enjoy baseball for a little while. the run differential stuff got old a long time ago. we know they're super talented and should be better than they are. and stop pretending like you're enjoying baseball this year. you can admit that it's been a bummer.
  15. they're finishing up the easiest part of the schedule right now, so i don't know how you can assume this. And they’re playing over .500 on it??? i don't even know what you're arguing here. this argument about whether or not the cubs will be good never ends, party because i can't help myself, and partly because they continue to not be where they should be. the fact that they're on pace for 88 wins does not mean they haven't been disappointing and frustrating to watch for 2 months.
  16. they're finishing up the easiest part of the schedule right now, so i don't know how you can assume this.
  17. yeah we all know they're likely to be good and they have a good roster and stuff, but at this point the constant assumption that they'll go on some big run just because it's worked out that way in the past feels like false confidence in the way it's talked about. we all know that what you said is likely to be true, yet it feels lie you're trying to convince yourself of it as much as you're trying to convince me. Not really. The Cubs could end up falling short at the end of the day. But because they’ve been a really really good baseball team for the last 3+ years they deserve the benefit of the doubt. No one needs to freak out before Memorial Day because they are 4.5 games out of first (and only 2 in the loss column) much less 1 game out of a playoff spot. saying anything other than "the cubs will obviously win 90+ games and the brewers are 100% trash" is seen as freaking out. the "it's only _____" thing just becomes annoying at a certain point, because it has a way of always being pushed back. plus, injuries happen, and we might be seeing with darvish. they need to be winning games and not assuming they'll come later, because it not happening would be far from the weirdest thing to happen in baseball this year.
  18. accept the fact that they're better and it will become easier actually that doesn't make it easier at all. why the horsefeathers is cubs baseball so sad these days God are we going to horsefeathering do this horsefeathers on here 2 years in a row? It’s like I’ve gone back in time to July 2017. It’s horsefeathering May still, slow your damn roll. Maybe it will turn out different but this team has played like a 90 win team in the first halves under Joe and 109 win team in second halves. This happens every horsefeathering year except 2016 and yet many can’t just chill out and enjoy the greatest run of Cubs baseball in pretty much forever. yeah we all know they're likely to be good and they have a good roster and stuff, but at this point the constant assumption that they'll go on some big run just because it's worked out that way in the past feels like false confidence in the way it's talked about. we all know that what you said is likely to be true, yet it feels lie you're trying to convince yourself of it as much as you're trying to convince me.
  19. maybe it's just time to stop making fun of the team with half our payroll that made the cubs sweat last year while in a full rebuild, and are currently kicking the cubs asses this year while still having completely ignored their rotation.
