Home runs are the one thing we know he will do. it's just really weird to bring him up now as if his stock has risen since he came up or something. I hope it’s not really weird to bring it up now that Eloy “The Real Deal” just went yard in the 9th to win the game. do you really think this is a win for you

i already told you i don't consider a home stand against .500 teams to be part of a "tough stretch". i disagreed with the "whatever" mentality over a 2-5 road trip. the fact that they went 6-1 on the homestand beforehand doesn't really have anything to do with it. hopefully the cubs playoff schedule doesn't have a tough stretch

the cardinals and rockies are barely above .500 with run differentials that are barely positive. I dont see how a home stand against them is considered a tough stretch Here is the complete list of 13 game stretches where we only play teams over .500 besides this one: That’s the list. We have a 12 game stretch of Mil-StL-Mil-Oak in the second half. You probably think that’s not tough because the Cards are barely .500 and Oakland is only .500. We also had a 9 game stretch of Tex-Atl-Mil and another 9 gamer of Ari-LAD-Ari. Those are the only sets of 3 straight series against .500 or better teams this year (based on current records). So either what we just went through is a tough stretch or there isn’t a tough stretch on the schedule. i never said there was any stretch during this season where i'd be fine with a .500 or below record beforehand. the fact that this qualifies as the "toughest stretch" of the season doesn't mean it's some brutal run against dominant teams. the cubs played one great team in this stretch. it wasn't some gauntlet. having the record they did wasn't the worst thing in the world, but to just shrug and say "oh well, not bad" must mean that you have low expectations for this team. like god forbid we actually go on a good run while we're also playing decent teams.

2-5 is not satisfactory, I dont give a horsefeathers what the brewers did. they slump and we cant even be average to take advantage of it. the last several weeks have been damaging. He wasn’t just talking about the last 7 games. They went 8-6 the past two weeks. the cardinals and rockies are barely above .500 with run differentials that are barely positive. Honestly for me it’s starting to get there mostly because we brought virtually everyone back from last season and expected different results. Granted I’d take 95 wins every season, but the issues that killed 2018 are still there. it's weird though, because we got big bounce backs from kb/rizzo/contreras (so far)
