  1. he's pitched in plenty of games already, he's not in spring training mode I mean, he's pitched 11 innings. 11 max effort innings. he's been in the majors for a month now. rust is not even close to an excuse at this point.

  3. 24 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 10 hits for the cubs offense so far this series. it's like we never left the end of last season.
  4. just a complete disaster of a season. start the rebuild and get rid of theo when his contract runs out. we can't afford to let him cripple this franchise with more bad signings. it;s just one huge misfire after another.
  5. judgement: you guys suck just as badly as we thought
  6. probably whatever excuse it was in game 7 of the world series
  7. the fact that maddon used hendricks for 90 pitches and then couldn't use kimbrel in the 8th is horsefeathering infuriating. it's like he's going out of his way to exploit our awful middle relief for other teams. and he's been doing this for years. he did it in game 7 of the horsefeathering world series.
  8. again, look at theos comments on the offense after the end of last season, and them consider the fact that we are still doing the exact same horsefeathers because he has still changed nothing. 9 strikeouts for gio is a disgrace.
  9. 4 hits. I have zero faith in theo Eepstein at this point
  10. Bingo. Considering we were coming off postseasons in which we A) won the title in large part because of Chapman's 8-out save in Game 5 of the Series and B) advanced to the NLCS in large part because of Wade Davis' 7-out save in Game 5 against Washington, it was straight-up stupid to then go sign a closer you knew damn well you were never going to be able to use that way even if he didn't break before then. The minute he wasn't able to pitch the day after throwing 2 damn pitches in Miami because he had supposedly warmed up too much, I knew that one was a losing move. Counterpoint: Chapman’s 8 out save almost lost us the WS. maddon's decision to use him in game 6 is what almost cost us. the 8 out save couldn't possibly have been more needed.
  11. it would be sweet if it was someone like cynosure after he just got out of prison or something
  12. now i'm really convinced this is a former poster with a different name tim?
  13. The price reflected the risk, the rest of the FA RP market sucked or was overpriced (Davis, who will still got a pick for losing) he at least was really good for the 40 innings or whatever we had him for last year. 35 appearances and 22 saves. No sign he’s coming back this year. I guess it’s par for the course with Theos long history of botched FA signings, save for Lester. Theos not good with the checkbook. nobody is arguing that it didn't turn out poorly
  14. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/cubs-lose-kris-bryant-and-anthony-rizzo-span-couple-minutes-injury-ejection-giants-bote-caratini reminds of of the way they talked about his shoulder last year. sounds like a DL stint at a bad time
  15. i gotta tell ya, the fact that the brewers and cardinals also suck does absolutely nothing for me anymore
  16. please don't waste assets on rentals for this team
  17. nobody is held accountable in this organization
  18. if this almora nonsense continues past the deadline, they deserve to lose. take the horsefeathering L, theo.
  19. the home/road stuff is irrelevant. the problems are that the bullpen is suspect and we have a few nightmarish hitters getting way too much playing time, which keeps the top-heavy offense from scoring as many runs as they should. it's just crazy that theo made those comments about the offense at the end of last season, and we're still sticking with almora/russell/descalso getting regular playing time. we're just giving away so many at-bats on guys that have basically no chance of ever being good. it's the type of thing that i'd expect from pre-theo cubs.
  20. i hope they trade hiura for stroman
  21. would be cool if theo would actually get some of these trash players off our roster and try to put the brewers away
