  1. Yeah, he slugs .857 in April/May for his career. OPS. It was obvious you meant OPS, but when you do the #/#/# thing it generally is average/obp/slugging.
  2. He slugs .857 in April in his career? That's fantastic! Or by .857 do you mean .511?
  3. This is an excellent post, even though your first two points are exactly the same. I think the real question here is, and I know this is difficult to evaluate without bias, but if the DH were on our side and not the other, would we prefer it? Would we support its adoption in the AL? The only people to whom I could address this fairly are Sox fans, and I don't really want to talk to them, and even if I did, I wouldn't want to hear what they have to say about baseball.
  4. I love just about every one of your posts equally.
  5. IMO, it's not a rally if it's before the 7th inning. Or when you aren't coming from behind.
  6. Braun makes it look nearly impossible.
  7. Memphis is made up of a bunch of thugs, but you didn't ask who I wanted to win, you asked who I thought would win.
  8. 'cause it's their home opener. Yeah; it's more convenient for the 15 people who will show up
  9. I think Hamilton is sure bet to outproduce Atkins this year in Arlington and you will probably break even with McLouth for Hermida.
  10. Not loving our chances against the crafty lefty. But, as long as Theodore doesn't implode we should be fine
  11. Words can't express how happy I am that Derrek is creaming the ball and Woody is makin dudes look silly at the plate.
  12. Wow Runge making Froemming look alert out there today.
  13. yeah that ball was more than a foot outside. maybe runge doesn't like the japanese. I'm thinking he doesn't like giving bases on balls
  14. Bob's diatribe about the DH got me to thinking. I absolutely agree that Zambrano in the AL would be ridiculous and sad, but I don't share his strong anti-DH feelings. I do think it's crap that some guys never put on a glove in their whole career (Bret Boone, I believe), and others use it to prolong their careers by 5 to 10 years. Also, I'm sure I will hate it much more once Braun ends up on the Yankees. Vote and discuss.
  15. Emoticons or links are very helpful to relay sarcasm. Without knowing about the firejoemorgan.com content, that post about mistrusting the Japanese seemed all too real. Maybe it's because blatant ignorance and racism are actually present throughout society. Unfortunately, I'm too used to hearing terms like "Japs" without seeing people bat an eye. Your point would be well-taken if not for the fact that it would be much easier to count IMB's sincere posts than his insincere ones.
  16. I like this part a lot. I was at the game where Hill decided he could pitch at this level and it was awesome.
  17. I've never been so apathetic about a NC game. I picked Memphis.
  18. Braun would be the last of the three I'd trade. i'd imagine Laporta would be the first to be traded, he'll be cheap and have the most trade value, and Braun and Fielder should be entrenched as franchise faces by then (if they aren't already) Unless the Brewers don't think they can afford both Braun and Fielder. Considering how ticked he was with the Brewers this offseason...with the renewal of his contract, and taking into account who the agent for Fielder is...(you know 'em, you love to hate him, he's ARod fave scapegoat), I'm pretty sure Fielder will be dealt before he reaches FA. Which would be perfect for Milwaukee, in the case, they would finally have room for Braun at 1B, and keep LaPorta in LF, and get a BOATLOAD of young talented players for Fielder. In fact, it wouldn't suprise me if Fielder ended up in Detroit (oh..........the sweet irony of it) for a deal that certains around Rick Porcello in 3 yrs. If the Tigers trade Porcello for more hitting, i'll eat my hat
  19. And it would be much more successful if it were worded as such.
  20. I'll be at Miller Park watching the Brewers pull farther ahead of us.
  21. Don't look at batting average in the first week of April. Or ever.
  22. I see we can't be bothered to see more than two pitches in a PA today.
  23. You should consider yourself fortunate to be able to look at the Great One's package.
