  1. lol at DLee not hitting for power anymore
  2. Don't. He can't recruit big men and is a poor late-game manager. I hope you don't pay him as much as we did.
  3. I agree to a certain extent but you are having a particularly hard time with it.
  4. I'd gladly do it if it got me a gig on the Office!
  5. I know - this board is already in full meltdown mode. Its hilarious. It's really hard to know who's been serious, though, and who isn't. Except for IMB, of course.
  6. This matters how? Granted, Soriano did look particularly horrible, especially in his second at bat that featured him swinging the bat 6 times at 6 balls. Very frustrating. At least with Theriot you know the exact outcome of his PA every time: "Ryan Theriot flies out softly to RF"
  7. that and the fact that we lost. Don't get me wrong, I'm pissed that we lost. But I expected it once we hit extra innings. The Wood whining is much more disconcerting to me.
  8. That was the worst thing about the game today - you knew the whining was gonna start already.
  9. Is this to point out that he's Dusty's kind of guy or that you would want him on the Cubs? Hoppers a prototypical leadoff hitter+ a great CF. Im just saying, if things dont work out with Felix, it might be worth persuing. We all know that Griffeys season will be over by May, and Dunn patrols the outfield with the grace of a cement truck, but maybe Dusty doesnt. Pie is a pretty good bet to outproduce Hopper this year.
  10. It's Bruce's job. Who's Norris Hopper?
  11. Acronyms are fun! In before lock, as in someone has probably already posted this in another thread
  12. Is this to point out that he's Dusty's kind of guy or that you would want him on the Cubs?
  13. I stopped by to see what there was still to post in this thread... I just won a bet with myself
  14. utterly ridiculous. a high school half pitcher-half right fielder. yeah, we wouldn't have had any problems developing him into a useful major leaguer... Yeah, this. Thanks for putting in into perspective.
  15. ...what? Just a hunch. Pie may well struggle early and Johnson is loaded with grit and play-the-game-the-right-way-edness. I see him as a Theriot with more talent. Whatever keeps Pierre off the team.
  16. That would be fun I feel too bad for Reds fans to enjoy this much. While Dusty was a cancer for us, we didn't have the resources for him to totally misuse like they do in Cincy. Here is the first chance for the Reds to compete in a long time and they are gonna ride Patterson and Hatteburg down to the cellar instead and destroy Bailey and Cueto. I don't really care that they are in our division; if we don't win our division this year, then we know we don't deserve to see October anyway. I wanna see what these kids can do; i've been excited about it since I saw Bruce play in the futures game.
  17. +1 You can't play for the Pirates and overrated.
  18. I was going to read this article until I saw that the link was to Fox Sports. I'm studying; I don't need something to make me dumber.
  19. i feel sorry for the naive reds fans though I don't ok your right They should listen to us, if they don't, it's their problem Well that may be true, but I feel sorry for the Reds fans that saw this coming. All that young talent and promise pretty much down the drain. On paper, if the Reds start the right guys all season, they could be legitimate contenders this year. As long as Baker is at the helm, there is just no way this is happening.
  20. I'll be happy and not the least bit surprised if he hits .390/.500 with 30 HR and 50 doubles low end .380/.450 25 HR
  21. FWIW (which is absolutely nothing), John Kruk picked us to win the World Series. I would really rather he didn't do that, but would instead just go away.
  22. You've got some pretty stupid priorities. Your [expletive]. This HAS to be a joke, right?
  23. Yeah I was wondering why they didn't do it Polo Grounds style by skewing home plate so as to make two short porches instead of one ridiculous one
