  1. That was my first Cubs night game ever. Probably the craziest experience of my life.
  2. Ehhhhhh...Harden's a horrifying arm injury waiting to happen and Blanton is mediocre. I'd take a pass on those two. This and I never, ever want Hendry trading with Beane again
  3. I had to do it
  4. He does do a good job with keeping the starter's PC at a reasonable level, but I wish he showed the same type of restraint with Marmol. IMO, he should never be used unless it's a 1 or 2 run ballgame, or a high leverage situation. Yes, but Lou doesn't really know what this means
  5. Cripes, Edmonds owned the guy. Guess that means he'll be in the lineup tomorrow. Fixed this for you. Oh, and Cook's WHIP is pretty encouraging. I don't know how he's getting it done in Coors field allowing that many baserunners, but he will not be able to sustain that sub-3.00 era.
  6. Zambrano, and it's not particularly close. HM to Aramis and his ridiculous OBP
  7. Yep, that's what Edmonds does best; he makes routine plays look really hard.
  8. It's freaking cold out tonight. Yeah, I figured. I just thought that a manager or coach was pinch running or something. That would be strange. have you never seen a pitcher wear a jacket before? Have you never seen John Olreud play before?
  9. Raise your hand if you LOVE that Geovany Soto is batting behind Mr Edmonds tonight.
  10. '69? What about '89? The Cubs and Mets rivalry was really second only to the Cubs/Cards rivalry on the north side from the 60's until '93. I was three
  11. It certainly made Ryan Harvey something special. HAHA well I wouldn't come up through the Cubs system, duh
  12. Given that I'm fast (4.6 40), have good leaping ability (5'11" and can hang on a regulation-sized rim) and have absolutely no upper body strength, hitting the ball 500 ft would make me a badass CF.
  13. Anyone else bothered by the Canadian spelling? Yes, I know it's from Toronto but it bugs me a little.
  14. I wasn't alive in 1969. I hate the Yankees much, much more
  15. Well put. Hendry seems to be a decent guy for whom the lightbulb is now finally going on. Edmonds Yes, this
  16. San Diego is giving up too much. Cleveland too little. I agree with the exact opposite of this. So, you feel San Diego is giving up too little? They are giving up what is probably the best player in the deal and getting back guys with the upside of a #4 starter, a 4th OF, and a middle of the road SS. Then they throw in Giles, who sucks, but still has some value with his OBP. I'll rephrase. I think Cleveland is giving up quite a bit for Khalil Greene and roster filler. If I were San Diego and the trade was for Westbrook instead of our spare parts, I wouldn't hesitate to do it, bad outfield situation be damned. Westbrook may be Cleveland's fourth starter, but he isn't most teams'. No question the Cubs are giving up the least amount. We aren't giving up enough here to justify talking about Westbrook or Greene, regardless of the inclusion of a third team.
  17. San Diego is giving up too much. Cleveland too little. I agree with the exact opposite of this.
  18. I love my irons. I don't know what they are, but I hit my 4 iron significantly better than my driver. Yes, I am not good at golf.
  19. It's actually the only park in the central where the Cubs swept the entire season away series (2004?)
  20. This is awesome. cough*PM*cough
