    Brunner was 6'6" at best. Yes, but he had the athleticism of a 6'10 white guy. But seriously, I was remembering him being a little bigger than that.

    That was my second game of the year and the second in which we put up 3+ runs in the 8th to re-take the lead. Awesome game

    I'd suggest not telling people you think your team is cursed. I always find it funny how its OK to believe that a baseball team is cursed, but not that a fat bearded man in a red suit brings gifts to children or a giant rabbit gives them chocalate eggs. This is so strange. You're right, those are totally the same thing. Also, it's not ok to believe that a baseball team is cursed. Who told you that? Eh, it's as factual of an opinion as a lot of the other things silly people believe literally in. But no, you're right, believing that a hundred year drought equals a curse of some sort ISN'T the same thing as parents needlessly lying to their kids. EDIT: Anyway, the only reason some of us let our poor brains take comfort in a curse is because the reality is too depressing. That we're rooting for a team that has lost over one hundred years in a row and aren't strong enough to break our addiction to said team. But that's just being human, seeing patterns where there really is only random human history. And I understand that. But call it what it is; a coping mechanism and not an avowed belief. Some people truly believe it, is my point. And those people are dumb.

    What do the Brewers and Rays have in common that the Cubs don't? It would make little sense for the Cubs to lock into a long-term contract to hedge against arbitration/inflation right now. The threat of being saddled with an injury on a long-term contract is way scarier than Castro commanding 15 million in 4 years.

    Hit him wherever you like, Mike, but don't call him "Cassie". as someone whose HS baseball coach shortened my name in a similar fashion (which likewise sounded like a girl's name), I hope Castro can resist the urge to beat him to death with a fungo bat. Heh. Whatever, yours wasn't as bad as "Cassie." Also, they didn't add insult to injury by making you tote a pink backpack all season.

    Jay Jackson very well might. By the time the next Russell/insta-loss spot comes up, it should be Jays throw day as well. Is Jay ready to go 5-6 innings and throw 85-95 pitches? Didn't he just leave extended ST to join Tenn.? Jackson went 5 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K for Iowa last night, throwing 69 pitches. Any reports about his velocity? Is it still down, but not down enough to check for an injury? I don't understand why they're handling this the way they are.

    hahaha lmao...ok, the 'perpetual mudslinging' post probably deserved to be mocked, but BtB, you're just riding SSRs coattails around this thread, patting him on the back. you can do better. For what it's worth, I'm sure Auburn University has or had boosters that would be willing to pay players....However, I don't believe Auburn University athletic department has orchestrated a pay for play scheme, nor have I seen evidence to this point that any of the accusations, even those made by disgruntled Chaz Ramsey, are going to stick. There's much I can say about your willful ignorance to the goings-on in Auburn football that hasn't already been said. So I laugh. Hey man, if you can provide specifics, name names, please enlighten me as to what is happening at Auburn Univeristy. I would, but I'd really hate to perpetuate the culture of mudslinging that's tarnishing its reputation so
