  1. Apparently it's not worth the time or attention for people to read past the first few words of other posts...sweet. If you're not trying to compare the two, then why bring them up in the same context, your disclaimer notwithstanding? By associating the two, you are implicitly comparing them...
  2. ARam wasn't on the downside of his career when we acquired him either...bad comparison.
  3. Theriot has looked muc much more comfortable @ SS since he's gotten to play there regularly..
  4. you could also say if Marshall didn't walk the lead off guy and give up a hit, it never would have gotten to Kendall. But I know better to argue when a player already has his grave dug for him before he comes over. Pitchers are going to occasionally walk and give up hits. Catchers should make the routine plays. Especially when they can't hit. then let's be clear on routine, because I recall a month ago a worm burner bouncing out of Barrett's glove was not routine, but tonight a short hop that few catcher's in baseball come up with, allegedly six inches out of position or not, is suddenly routine. IMO, it wasn't exactly "routine", but an allegedly good defensive catcher should make that play...
  5. Jumping to the gun just a little bit there Tomy? Oh, I'm not giving up. I just feel "not as good." I still think we'll make the playoffs with a little luck, but there's losing, and then there's losing because your new catcher who is apparently here to be an upgrade botches a play like that. I still feel we're a good team, I just don't feel good. You'll feel better when kendall starts hitting. That's incredibly not comforting. But, but...he's a career .298 hitter. That means he'll necessarily hit that well the rest of the way...
  6. We need more of this....have been too nice to our Cubbies lately, though it's easy to understand why, what w/ winning the way we have..
  7. Pagan does all the little things that don't show up in the boxscore. He's a gamer. Ugh.. enough of the cliche terms like "winner" & "gamer" please.. :D
  8. No Ball was clearly bobbled & out of Aurilia's glove before Fontenot got to the bag..
  9. I know he's not in the lineup tonight, but Cliff Floyd really seems like the best #2 hitter in our lineup. He clearly doesn't have his power anymore, but he's still getting on base and having nice lengthy at bats. derrek lee, please. perfect two hole hitter. i'm serious. Gotta agree w/ that....
  10. I don't understand how Bayless even has a job.... Dude is a major douche..
  11. Maybe the fans figured since the organization allowed The Police to trash the outfield, it was o.k. for them to do it as well? :D Just sayin'.....
  12. Tribune will go private before the sale is completed. Therefore that takes care of this little problem. Actually it doesn't take care of the problem. The Trib will be owned by a Trust on behalf of Tribune employees. The Trustee (an independent institution) has a fiduciary duty to the beneficiaries of the Trust (i.e., the employees). If Cuban submits a significantly better bid, MLB will be in a tough position - particularly if the details leak. Considering many of those employees are members of the press, I wouldn't want to be the Trustee or Selig if MLB disqualifies the highest bid. LOL... I feel you--the power of the pen....
  13. Keep it rolling Cubbies75!!! Kendall: you better not suck like I think you will....
  14. LOL!! I was in the same camp... Nevermind for me also.
