  1. Low OBP guys in front of Bryzzo, and a guy who can't hit behind them. Makes total sense.
  2. Or maybe he's not really on thin ice.
  3. I was anticipating some sort of "rational fan take" in response. I just wish it was one of the [expletive] Russell defenders doing it instead of squally; that would've been more fun for me.
  4. Well, I was maybe wrong about this as it his horrendous on field decision-making in general wasn't a consideration as it should have been. Cubs sportsball fans seem to have let up their principled enabling of Russell as of late. Weird.
  5. "Batting order doesn't matter" has become "searching for rationales to explain WTF Maddon is doing."
  6. I'm dumb, so I don't know how to look at the batted ball splits, but wasn't his 2018 entirely propped-up by unsustainable BABIP the first 2 months of the season? With his glove, I get he's useful. I merely don't understand this feeling some fans seem to have that he's done anything to make us credibly think he's gonna have a break-out with the bat. I also will never get why "lineup doesn't matter" is somehow an argument for having him bat leadoff. Not saying that is being argued here at all, just disputes I've had with some fans.
  7. ^^and that's kinda my point about Almora. WTF has he done as a pro to earn him all this rope some fans want to give him? Outside a hot 2 months at Peoria and maybe 6 weeks at AA, he's done nothing to earn this.
  8. I see Darvish was pulled after 83 pitches. No injury I hope.
  9. He's never been good offensively, ever. He likely won't ever be good. I know some fans who keep thinking he'll have some magical breakout. The same idiots razzed me all the time for bristling at the idea of trading Javy. I mean, seriously, WTF?
  10. A dependable Darvish would be a very nice development.
  11. Do the Cubs have in-house advanced stats showing it's "smrt baseball" to put low OBP guys at the top of the lineup?
  12. Sending Monty for a rental backup catcher. I'm officially scared about Contreras' foot.
  13. Stop horsefeathering bunting FFS.
  14. I would go with Russell. His ceiling was higher. Was his ceiling all that much higher if Schwarber could’ve stayed at catcher? Was Schwarber ever declared the next Barry Larkin? Yeah, didn't think so bub. Hope you know I'm just kidding.
  15. Just another (unnecessary) reason to hate the horsefeathering Mets.
  16. Not according to this: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R9hzhGo0Q_29g2bfa2yQwHYqNN799JzkCP7HyK-XCKY/edit#gid=451339458 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R9hzhGo0Q_29g2bfa2yQwHYqNN799JzkCP7HyK-XCKY/edit#gid=1038252382
  17. Just think of all the pitching prospects we could get for him in a trade though!
  18. Because he's a miserable horsefeathers of an oxygen thief, that's why.
  19. horsefeathers it. Give Robel 3/4 of 2b starts, let Bote float between 2b & 3b, fire Russell into the sun, what they should have done months ago. What will happen: Russell gets both starts this weekend.
  20. The front office has already shown a lack of moral rectitude WRT Russell, maybe they'll dump him for just being stupid? Nah.
  21. See it's all about owning (although not really) @Kaepernick, not about celebrating American independence. These people and their faux patriotism are so revealing and full of self-owns that they're too horsefeathering stupid to realize.
  22. Hmmm let me see let me see.....I simply don't understand how Russell would feel like he could shirk responsibility. From where would he have learned this?? :-k
