Yeah, it's pretty bad...but I kinda feel that the Cubs lineup doesn't look all that great either, beyond Sori, Theriot & Kosuke, w/ Sori being the only one to strike any fear in the hearts of the opposing staff.
It can be done, it will just be a lot tougher. Agreed. They are a good enough team to overcome this, but it doesn't leave a lot of margin for error. If Bradley starts to earn his check & Soto doesn't remain a blackhole in the lineup, the Cubs can still take the division barring further injuries.
Marshall is gonna have to give up nothing, & the Cubs will have to get into the Giants 'pen for a shot at a win, IMO. Since the Giants offense is horrid, I think the first part is possible...maybe the Cubs can make Lincecum throw a boatload of pitches & get him out of the game....
Do we not have a third base option in the entire bloody organization between Ramirez and Vitters? Sure we do.....Bobby Scales is his name. Well done Hendry, et al, well done.
With what players? We don't have enough healthy players to have both a platoon and a bench. I should've added the qualifier, "once we actually have 25 guys on the active roster who can take the field."
