  1. Anybody else's sound quality just get really static-y on the CSN feed? Edit: See I'm not the only one. So I get to pick between this and a frozen image of Pujols that is still on TBS. Great...
  2. For what it's worth, my TBS is currently frozen on a hideous picture of Fat Albert, which I guess is my version of being blacked out, only with a very cruel twist.
  3. With Hoff and Fontenot being used over Edmonds, maybe it's a sign the Edmonds Era is coming to an end soon? Unfortunately, that would mean that Johnson takes over centerfield full time, but I guess anything that gets pretty boy off our roster is a step in the right direction...
  4. Edmonds is honestly so bad that I'm just praying for his patented shallow fly out to right field. There's not even a reasonable chance for anything good to happen, and I would like to see Soto with runners on.
  5. I'm not sure how to feel about the whole Gallagher situation. To me, it seems like something in the middle of the situations with Pie and Theriot. On one end (the Pie end), you have this kid who is clearly very talented, especially for his age, and is going to need some time to adjust to the majors. But unlike Pie, I think we can all agree that there are better options right now for the current team that aren't playing, which is more of a Theriot/Cedeno type situation. Best case scenario he figures it out quickly and becomes the best option this year. If that doesn't happen, it will be interesting to see how the Cubs deal with it with Marshall/Hill/Hart down in AAA.
  6. Do you really have to ask? Let's see Swisher is batting 100 pts lower and has less hr's and rbis. Ellsbury is batting 34 pts lower and has less hr's and rbis. Hermida is batting more 25 pts lower and has less hr's and rbis. Sizemore is batting 35 pts lower and has one hr more and less rbis. Oh and Upton has a .392 OBP (the highest of them all) which helps OPS I mean come on dude its a no brainer. Yeah if I were just basing it on production for the first month and a half of the year, it would be an easy decision. But Upton's BABIP is 412 right now. He simply can't sustain that. When he comes back down to earth, and Swisher starts playing up to his career norms (in a much smaller ballpark)... Now Hermida vs Upton is a much tougher. argument. I want to keep Ellsbury around for his runs and stolen bases, and I'm obviously not going to drop Sizemore.
  7. In my 10 team, H2H league, J Upton just got dropped. We use 6 offensive categories (R, HR, RBI, SB, Avg, OPS), and my current outfield picture is: Sizemore Ellsbury Hermida Swisher Another person I could consider dropping is Todd Helton, moving Swisher to the first base spot, even though he's sucked this year. My Util Spot is currently taken up by Soto, with McCann at catcher. Should I make a run at him? Or are those are early season numbers too good to be true?
  8. How do you figure? That's a tough throw to make on the fly
  9. That video should violate some sort of decency regulations of this board. Banned?
  10. Vance, looking over your stats, just a quick question...or maybe a correction. Do pitchers get credited with giving up a home run when it's of the inside the park variety?
  11. That is one heinous lineup we ran out there. +1...I had to double check to make sure that was actually from last year...My god...
  12. Hmmm...interesting trade. I'd like to see how Marshall would do in a starter role first though. Lou doesn't want 3 lefties in the rotation because the NL Central is predominantly right-handed hitters. Of course that's assuming Hill gets back in the rotation. I'm a bigger Milton Bradley fan than most people, but I don't really see anything about Kevin Millwood that says #2 starter. They guy has put up a 4.52 and 5.16 ERA the last two years, and actually had better numbers at home last year than on the road. I know most people get a boost from going to the NL, but I'm very confident that Z, Lilly, and Hill will all outproduce by the time the years over, and that seems like a lot to give up for a #4 and an outfielder, especially when you consider that move basically buries Pie.
  13. Maybe he's just going down there to stretch out his arm? But wait, we already have Hill down there... But wait, we could have just left Gallagher down there since he was already stretched out... But wait, all three of those options would be better in the rotation than Marquis and probably even Dempster... I'm lost...
  14. Why is DeRosa getting two days off in a row before an off day? I would really like him to not be hurt...
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3382020 I could 17 NSFW words in that nice little rant there, so not quite Lee Elia territory. But, man, is it music to my ears to hear how jealous he is of the Cubs....
  16. Head to head, 10 team league, 6x6(HR, RBIs, Runs, SB, Avg, OPS) C-Brian McCann 1B-Helton 2B-Roberts SS-Reyes OF-Swisher, Ellsbury, Sizemore Util-Soto Bench-Zimmerman and Hermida Obviously I could move Soto to catcher, and slide Burrell into Util/OF. But I don't know if he can keep up his pace, or if Soto can keep up his pace for that matter. McCann looks like the top fantasy catcher in the league, but my outfield is really weak for a 10 team league. Thanks
  17. CAUTION: Small sample size alert In 15 games last year in National League Central ballparks (66 PA): 300/318/583, for a nice little 901 OPS, with 4 HR. I'm just saying....
  18. If Theriot were playing 2B and hitting 7th or 8th as he should be, there'd be much less venom at him. Unfortunately, he's not. And the day Theriot actually decides where he bats before a game is the day I understand that kind of anger.
