At least both of them answered "no". Theisman answered no, but said that's only because he hasn't played in the Super Bowl yet. Sometimes, I wish LT broke Theismans neck, instead of his leg. I think everybody is taking this the wrong way. From reading his whole answer and his other answers, I think he is saying Rex is young and he'll prove that he is a good QB; worthy of leading a Super Bowl team.

The difference between Rex and a typical game manager is that Rex completed multiple big time passes. A game manager is just supposed to complete short passes and not screw up. Rex provides an opportunity for big plays. True he does have that ability to go long but they ran the ball enough to keep the game out of his hands. That pass that the Bear WR made a wonderful play for a TD on should have been an interception. Somebody else wrote something very wise about the "should have been an interception" theory. It just doesn't hold true. The only time you can say that is when a guy is standing still and it hits him in the chest. DBacks are not receivers. QBs can take risks because they know their WR are the better receivers back there, and the vast majority of the time, the pass will end up complete or incomplete. There's no reason why that "should have been an int". It wasn't, and the only way it could have been is if the DB made an amazing play. Not only that, but Mac is a first rate person, while Bonds is a total cretin. If Mac doesn't get voted in, Bonds sure the hell shouldn't be. Did anybody read the exert from a book about Bonds on Page 2 last year. It was basically talking about how big of a jerk he was even back in college and how the players actually voted him off the team, but the coach didn't kick him off.

I agree with the comment that MLB policy doesn't take precedent over any laws (at least, it shouldn't). Yes it's wrong IMHO and yes it's unethical IMHO. However, it is fair to point out whether or not something was against MLB rules. If a player was between the parameters of the rules at that time, we should be questioning MLB policy and MLB officials at that time for said parameters. Just my :twocents: I believe it was against MLB policy though. I think MLB prohibited the use of any illegal substances including steroids. They just didn't test for it.

They will certainly lose me as a customer if they do that. I have zero interest in DirectTV. I usually just get auto-renewed each year through my cable company. They give me all the discounts that comes with it. Those discounts are "early bird" and "repeat customer". I'd have to do some digging to find out how much I paid last year, but it was probably $139.99. I'd pay for it if it was $339.99, but don't tell them that. What I won't pay for is a completely different cable package like DirectTV. I think it would be somewhat stupid to go exclusive with a single cable provider, but who am I? Just some dumb ole consumer. TMQ talks about this with the NFL and DirectTV very frequently, and this type of agreement probably breaks the anti-trust agreement, so it would be doubly stupid for MLB to do the same thing.

Baseball isn't football, that's a terrible analogy. The media has acted as if the NY games were bad, and the San Francisco games didn't happen. For other QBs, Eli for one, they are more than willing to describe it as inconsistent. Eli had 5 straight games with a rating below 80, 7 with a sub 100. The longest Rex went with a sub 80 rating was 2 games, and only 3 with a sub 100. Only a clueless moron would call that a 7 game slump. It's called inconsistent results. If you want to try the baseball analogy it's more like a starter throwing a complete game shut, then getting rocked in 2 innings, following that up with a 8 inning 1 run outing, a 4 inning 5 run outing, a 7 inning 2 run outing, a 6 run 3 inning outing, then 2 more shellackings. Incompetent journalists would lump that into a long slump. People with a brain would call that inconsistent. There's a clear distinction. So in other words, Rex has been Jason Marguis like. [joking]

When asked about conversations he had with Giambi, he said he can remember having the conversation, but can't remember what was said. Basically, protecting Giambi from sounding like a jerk. Yes, I took the wife for a night on the town, dinner and movie. We laughed out loud on many occasions. She mentioned that at one time or another I had passed through most of the life stages portrayed in the movie. I would suggest you see it, but I'd leave the kids at home. Why?
