  1. IIRC, there isn't a defined criteria, it's just people watching the game classifying each ball in play. I believe Colin Wyers did some stuff in past showing the classifications might be unreliable. I also think Kyle has used this as one of his crusades in the past too.
  2. Man I didn't think there could be anything worse than the 5th inning on the radio, but I was wrong.
  3. didn't they take an extra cautious approach to the starters in ST and limit their innings? or is that your point? yea, my thought is that by holding them back to start spring, they may have ramped them up too quickly to start the regular season. edit: I've done no research on this to compare with other teams to see how the cubs innings and pitches compared to other teams start by start to see what if any difference there is. Just throwing horsefeathers at the wall.
  4. Part of me is wondering if how they handled the starters in spring training has led to dead arm period for our starters. Probably not, but I'm so confused by this bad stretch.
  5. I believe you've made this promise before and then didn't follow through. I blame you if he doesn't.
  6. Sorry, he was a peacock not a parrot. http://www.clickhole.com/article/oral-history-1998-major-league-baseball-home-run-c-4441
  7. I'm less worried since he has a pro team rehab staff working to get him back, but he wasn't the most mobile before, and it typically takes 2 years to get the "trust" back in your body (from all reports). I don't necessarily think that's true for a sport like baseball unless you're a catcher, pitcher or a guy who really relies on his legs for speed/defense. Sure it might take more time after he comes back to get all the strength back, but this isn't football or basketball where that's more true since you are constantly running, jumping, cutting, starting/stopping, getting hit, etc. When I tore my acl the first time, the last thing in all sports to come back for me was hitting in baseball. I didn't trust my knee to rotate on my back foot when I swung. It was a total mental thing though, and I didn't realize I was doing it.
  8. That's basically me every time I try to send a fax.
  9. I was just playing around, and was amazed at how much that list changes if you change the exit velocity to 95 mph.
  10. Hopefully Bryant has practiced catching a ball and glove at the same time.
  11. thanks to oakland all the people in San Fran are taking golden showers.
  12. Mine does that too occasionally. Try jumping back 10 seconds.
  13. Didn't Detroit start 35-5 one year? I don't see them on the list. Their run differential at this point was only 65, so they didn't make the top 5. didn't notice it was sorted on run differential, thought it was record. I shouldn't use my one comment a week so early on a Saturday.
  14. Didn't Detroit start 35-5 one year? I don't see them on the list.
  15. Castro!
  16. I thought on that still frame they showed his skate was clearly in the air with the puck still on the blue line

  18. my friends have gone quiet. I love it.
  19. I can't believe they have that nice of a graphic, and I don't think they have most of those sports anymore.
  20. Plus I could bring my RIch Hill jersey out of retirement.
