  1. Pirates got 4 back. 7-4 bottom 5 now. None out and a runner on 2nd also.
  2. Pirates not helping us out much today. Down 4-0 in the 2nd.
  3. We're definitely getting the Sox broadcast on MLBN because of Hawk, right?
  4. This is how I feel. If we're 3.5 up, I root for the Brewers on Monday and go from there. If we keep winning, we root for the Brewers to keep winning. Ideally, we win today and the Brewers lose, both us and the Brewers win Monday through Wednesday and we clinch the division on Thursday.
  5. Still holding out hope the Rockies can get past the Dodgers or Cardinals. So go Rox! Yeah, the Rockies are our only chance to prevent the Cards from making the playoffs. I hope them and the Dodgers win out.
  6. Cubs won yesterday. That was good. They should probably do that again. And if the Pirates and Giants want to win, that would be great also.
  7. So for Milwaukee to tie: Cubs/Mil 5-3/7-0 4-4/6-1 3-5/5-2 2-6/4-3 1-7/3-4 0-8/2-5
  8. Nobody else wants to start one so here is game thread.
  9. I know there have been questions about Machado's defense at SS and his insistence on playing there. But how does Harper rate defensively? This year it looks like he's given away a huge chunk of his offensive value on defense. He's been worth negative dWAR on B-R in 4 of his 7 years, with one year at 0.0 and another year at 0.4. Fangraphs appears to have his defense as a negative each of the past 6 seasons.
  10. Going to be fun rooting for the Cardinals next week against the Brewers. On a related note, since I have no faith in the Rockies winning enough to beat the Cards out for the second wild card, we should probably be rooting for the Rockies to lose right? Best case for us (assuming the Cards are going to make it) is the Cards win enough to have the second wild card locked up by the last series but they have no chance at the first wild card or division going into the last series. Then they'd have no incentive to try against us, especially on Sat and Sun so they can have people rested for the WC game on Tuesday.
  11. Two homers on 0-2 pitches this inning. Thanks, Pirates.
  12. Better win the next two. Hope the Brewers don’t sweep the Pirates.
  13. The Yankees have 247 home runs this year with 10 games to play. They're on pace for 263 and the record is 264. They play Baltimore, Tampa and Boston. Even though they can't win the division, they're only 1.5 games up on the A's for the first wild card and I assume they don't want to play in Oakland on a Wednesday and then in Boston on a Friday if they win so they should be playing their normal lineup for at least the next few days.
  14. It shouldn’t matter much either way but the White Sox are going to extras in Cleveland. Wouldn’tind them playing 15 tonight.
  15. Chris Davis has a -2.9 fWAR this year. It’s tied for the ninth worst since 1900. He’s due $23M per year through the 2022 season.
  16. Me too. Fortunately we caught them right as their season was collapsing. Still, 2 out of 3 is huge. And I’m just noticing we got only one hit. LOL. Oh well these guys killed it on this run. Didn’t lose any ground on the Brewers in the three days which is all that really matters.
  17. Didn’t see the first strike but strikes 2 and three were out of the zone.
  18. Their 2, 4 and 5 hitters have a combined 55 PAs in the majors this year.
  19. 99% chance Morrow would have recovered just fine if this thread had never happened.
