  1. I took mine off for an indoor soccer game, and some jerk stole it by the end of the night. But I'll see how they do, if they do good for a while, I think i'll live without it. I know I still believe.
  2. Well I'll miss the start of the game. But I'll be home around 2 so I'll be able to watch some. And then I'm basically coaching a girl's soccer practice tomorrow, so I think I'm grabbing the portable radio for this! Knowing we got Cubby baseball tomorrow makes everything feel great!
  3. If worse comes to worse, we could always PH with Z.
  4. Thanks to mhuber, Serena, and Blueheart! Now let's go Cubbies! I'll be gone for the game trying to save our school's awful girls soccer team. A Cubs win and a day with 30+ girls, what guy wouldn't love that? Go Cubbies!
  5. I know it's spring training... but I suggest the Cubs bring home a win on my 18th birthday, who agrees?
  6. Needs to be said again after that interception.
  7. Why do I keep thinking we DFA'd him early in the offseason?
  8. I'm hoping for Cleveland. I will be able to actually cheer for his team rather than just him. Nomar's been my favorite player ever since I can remember, I'm going to miss him dearly.
  9. I was born into it, but it didn't become a passion until 4th grade.
  10. Has there been a lot of talk of moving Walker to left field? His defense is below average (to be nice) at second, I don't think it would be anything better than poor in left. Walker played LF for one game, and it was comedic gold. I don't think it can be realistically considered. He only saw one play correct? If he had more, I only remember the routine fly he had a little trouble with. A little trouble? He ran around it a circle and had to dive for the ball. It was a pop fly. Walker in LF is not a good idea. I was just kidding with "a little", but it was definitely a fun play to watch. But yeah, Walker should not go anywhere near left field.

  12. What if Nomar swallowed his pride and took a bench role for the Cubs? He can play both 3rd and SS. This is definitely a pipe dream, but it's not impossible, just highly improbable. Yeah, I really don't want to see Nomar go.
  13. Me and my friend are gonna try it tomorrow. Her boyfriend, who is also an old soccer buddy of mine, finds it to be stupid. But in my opinion, free candy is the best candy (except those peanut butter and chocolate things that come in orange wrappers and black wrappers).
  14.  I hated seeing Harris go, but at least he helped us get Murton.
  15. Soccer's a different game, and the kids are half the age of your high schoolers Cuse. There are plenty of things you can do. You can tell the team not to shoot until they have X amount of passes strung together, or with their off foot, or at a more advanced age, to try and score on aerial balls. Kids at 7-9 are pretty prone to giving up when their hopelessly outmatched. Not scoring(or putting restraints on your team) is the sporting thing to do out of courtesy. This is what my brother's high school coach would do (unfortunately he got a better offer by the time I was about to play for him). But he would have them make a certain number of passes, or he would make it so they can only score on a header, etc.
  16. If Wertz/Werts comes anywhere NEAR the Cubs organization.... I don't know what I'll do.
  17. I still don't understand why the Cubs let Riggleman go. I'd love to have him back to manage the Cubs, I always liked him.
  18. Pretty much the same for me. I've been a huge Blackhawks fan my whole life and I love hockey as much as I love baseball. It really sucked being without hockey for a year, and even though I was pissed about the lockout, like Truffle said, I was still going to be a fan when it came back. Same thing. Been a Hawks fan as long as I've been a Cubs fan. I was going to be a fan regardless of the rule changes and such. I'll admit though, they have made it more entertaining.
  19. You know if you were there you'd have followed him into the men's room. I'm not gonna lie to you... it's possible
  20. Hey, don't be dissing the bald guy !! My hairline was receding before I got out of high school. No offense, he just doesn't look like he's 25... I thought he was discovered by a scout when he was still in highschool though. My brother's hairline started receding when he was 21... now he just shaves his head at 25.
  21. I don't think there was any doubt in the minds of the Angels players. I agree but there was a longer delay after this strike 3 call. I do believe the umps blew this one but you have to be aware of the possibility. So you think that every catcher should tag every batter, after every strike 3? That's a little unreasonable. I'm extremely late on responding to this, but I was talking to my brother about it earlier today. He was a catcher in high school and he said that one of the main things that you're taught is that when you rotate your glove when it's near the dirt, you should always tag the batter.
