  1. Perfect delivery or not, a pitcher's mechanics change as he wears down and gets tired, which is where the major risk of injury comes from.
  2. Kanye West hates walks. Jesus Walks. I bet Jesus' OBP is through the roof! #-o
  3. I-Cubs in the bottom of the 2nd: McGehee singles. Augie singles, McGehee to third. Jose Reyes grounds into a forceout, Augie out at second, McGehee scores. Iowa up 2-0. O'Malley bunts into a forceout, Reyes out at second. Pie doubles, O'Malley to third. Buck Coats with a 2-RBI single, Iowa now up 4-0. Mike Fontenot pops out to end the inning. Iowa leads 4-0 after 2. West Tenn: 0-0 in the bottom of the 3rd in Zebulon, North Carolina.
  4. Nope. He has 104 AB's there this year. Hmm I guess I don't pay attention too much. Who does these days?
  5. Iowa is up to bat in the bottom of the 1st inning of a scoreless game. Pie led off the bottom of the first with a line drive single to RF and now stole second with 1 out. West Tenn and Carolina are scoreless going to the second...
  6. By the way, with this game, Daytona broke their previous single-season attendance record.
  7. Huh, Andrew Miller is advised by the same group of agents (Frontline Athlete Management, with agents Darek Braunecker, Jim Lindell and Mark Rodgers) as Jeff Samardzija and Chris Huseby. I think they've done well this summer just with those three contracts.
  8. Added him to the list in the first post in the thread. Please let me know if I've missed someone who's signed.
  9. And plays a position that can lead to shortened careers, etc.
  10. Fred, did you already stop by Fontana and Ontario and not tell me? :( GO HILL!
  11. Andy was demoted to the minors last week...but so far, he's been closing/relieving inAAA Omaha.
  12. The guys on the talk show after the game were all calling him "The Real Deal." I think Donnie needs his own nickname, let Dontrelle keep his.
  13. You mean, snapped again. This is Isaac's second start with the Jaxx. He came aboard at the same time as Bicondoa, from the same Can-Am Independent League.

  16. Probable Starters: Iowa: LHP Ryan O'Malley (5-7, 4.03 ERA, 111.2 IP) vs. RHP Jared Wells (1-5, 7.30 ERA) West Tenn: RHP Issac Pavlik (1-0, 1.74 ERA, 10.1 IP) @ LHP Manuel Olivera (3-7, 3.58 ERA) Daytona: RHP Ryan Bicondoa (1-0, 2.38 ERA, 11.1 IP) vs. RHP Eddie Bonine (2-4, 3.87 ERA) Peoria: RHP Mitch Atkins (10-3, 2.52 ERA, 110.2 IP) @ RHP RHP Vince Mazzaro (8-8, 5.06 ERA) Boise: LHP Mark Pawelek (1-3, 2.59 ERA, 31.1 IP, 26/13, 10 HBP, 1.18 WHIP) @ RHP Andrew Miller (0-0, 9.00 ERA) Mesa: LHP Taylor Paker (1-1, 2.41 ERA, 33.2 IP) & RHP Oscar Bernard (1-4, 2.66 ERA, 20.1 IP; overall: 1-4, 4.24 ERA, 23.1 IP) *Take Mesa's probable starter with a grain of salt as they shuffle their pitchers around with frequency.
  17. Boise wins 7-2. Colvin goes 0 for 5 with 5 strikeouts and is now 0 for his last 16. Mesa wins 12-2. Rundle ends up 2 for 5 with 1 strikeout. Andersen ends up 1 for 3 with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts.
  18. Colvin now 0 for his last 14. Josh Lansford follows with a solo HR to give Boise a 6-2 lead in the top of the 7th. Now Alfred Joseph with an RBI double to score Canzler. It's 7-2 after 7.
  19. So the guy who got the hit was either picked off or doubled up on a fly ball? Caught stealing to end the first.
  20. Actually, it was a 2-RBI ground rule double in the 2nd for Rundle and he followed it up with an RBI single in the 4th. Rundle also has a walk and no strikeouts. Drew's BA is all the way up to .217. Cliff Andersen is 1 for 3 with a double and a strikeout. Marco Carrillo relieved Huseby and gave up a solo HR through 3 innings of work. Three of Huseby's four strikeouts were of the swinging variety.
  21. There are exceptions to it, as I mentioned (JUCOs and 21-year olds):
  22. Tyler Colvin is now 0 for his last 13 (with 3 BBs). Russ Canzler breaks a 2-2 tie with his 8th HR of the year. Now Steve Clevenger gets an RBI single to score Alfred Joseph. Then DJ Lewis and Matt Canepa get a walk and an RBI single and in the bottom of the 6th, Boise leads it 5-2.
  23. Bah, West Tenn loses it in the bottom of the 11th on two doubles. :( Holdzkom takes the loss.
  24. Wow, the Carolina announcer mistook an intentional walk to Brandon Sing for a pitchout. To the bottom of the 11th we go, still tied at 7. Boise is scoreless in the bottom of the first.
  25. In Daytona, apparently Veal's nickname is "The Real Deal." As in, Donnie "The Real Deal" Veal. I personally like THE DON! much more.
