  1. Eww, the 951 (formerly the 909). Crossing over to LA County anytime soon? :goes and hides since Fred is 25 miles away from Navin:
  2. I'm hoping it's an NL team. Can you imagine Dusty in Arizona with all that young talent?
  3. Because Gallagher is a level ahead of Veal and more advanced. I expect both will see time next season in the big leagues, but Gallagher will be more ready to win a job in the spring a la Marshall.
  4. Don't forget, you can watch the Boise game on their web site. Here's the link to the video feed.
  5. Boise's web site says game time is a 7:15 pm MDT. MiLB.com says 5:15. I'd trust the Boise web site. Peoria is in must-win mode, they're eliminated if they lose.
  6. MWL First Round: Game 1: Beloit Won 2-0 Game 2: Thurs., Sept. 7, Peoria vs. Beloit, 6:30 pm CDT Game 3 (if needed): Fri., Sept. 8, Peoria vs. Beloit, 6:30 pm CDT NWL Finals: Game 1: Thurs., Sept. 7, Boise vs. Salem-Keizer, 8:15 pm CDT Game 2: Fri., Sept. 8, Boise vs. Salem-Keizer, 8:15 pm CDT Game 3: Sat., Sept. 9, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 9:05 pm CDT Game 4 (if needed): Sun., Sept. 10, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 7:05 pm CDT Game 5 (if needed): Mon., Sept. 11, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 8:35 pm CDT Probable Starters: MWL First Round - Game 2: RHP Scott Taylor: (8-8, 3.39 ERA) vs. RHP Eddie Morlan (5-5, 2.29 ERA) NWL Final - Game 1: LHP Mark Pawelek (3-5, 2.51 ERA) vs. LHP Steven Calicutt (4-1, 1.75 ERA) Taylor: 140.2 IP, 71 K/28 BB Pawelek: 61 IP, 52/23 Game Time Weather, Peoria: 76°F, Sunny Game Time Weather, Boise: 85°F, Hazy/Smoky
  7. Yap yap yap. :P Sorry, was distracted by the TV. You could have posted the boxes, you know. I'm impressed you were up so late.
  8. With no outs in the bottom of the 9th inning, Tri-City wins it on a bases-loaded bloop single. The final is 4-3. I'll post the boxes in a few minutes.
  9. If they wanted to save time, they should have looked into not stopping the clock after first downs.
  10. Boise tied at 3 in the top of the 8th. They don't need to go to extra innings the night before the playoffs start.
  11. There is no clear-cut #1, but Price has as good a shot as anyone else. Others who have been talked about highly and could possibly go #1: RHP Andrew Brackman, North Carolina State C Matt Wieters, Georgia Tech RHP Matt Harvey, HS (Connecticut) RHP Michael Main, HS (Florida) SS Justin Jackson, HS (North Carolina) So even if we are #2 or #3 in the fecal league, we should still have our pick of a really good player, right? Yeah, this should be a really strong draft...especially at the high school levels. Frankly, I'd love Wieters or Price.
  12. Nah, they start tomorrow in Boise. Looks like bad weather will plague them during the whole playoff series: it should be smoky in Boise with the wildfires around and then there's a chance for rain in Keizer for each of the last 3 games. Boise jumps ahead in the top of the 2nd on a Josh Lansford solo HR.
  13. There is no clear-cut #1, but Price has as good a shot as anyone else. Others who have been talked about highly and could possibly go #1: RHP Andrew Brackman, North Carolina State C Matt Wieters, Georgia Tech RHP Matt Harvey, HS (Connecticut) RHP Michael Main, HS (Florida) SS Justin Jackson, HS (North Carolina)
  14. Mark Pawelek (game 1 starter) and C Matt Canepa, amongst others, are already in Boise, resting and getting ready for the NWL finals. Jose Ceda did not get hurt last time when he went 2 innings. Brian and splendid splinter were right, Ceda was just switching with Muldowney for the rotation. Apparently it's smoky and not air quality-wise nice in Boise due to some wildfires in the area - conditions should be the same for game 1 tomorrow.
  15. Ouch, paid attendance at Beloit was 355.
  16. The Peoria Chiefs lose game 1 of their first round playoff series, 2-0. The opposing pitcher threw a 99-pitch complete game shutout.
  17. 89 through 6 innings. EDIT: But, of course, Gameday is slow by an inning.
  18. Peoria's top of the 9th: Heredia vs. Pino: Strike 1 called. Fouled off, strike 2. Ball 1 high. Poked foul down the LF line, still 1-2. Fouled back, still 1-2. Chopper fouled down the first base line, still 1-2. Ball 2 high. Strike 3 swinging. One out. Pino at 90 pitches. Chirinos vs. Pino: Strike 1. Flyout to CF. Two outs. Valdez vs. Pino: Strike 1 called. Ball 1 outside. Grounded foul down the third base line, count goes to 1-2. Fouled back, count remains 1-2. Fouled back, count remains 1-2. Popped out to shallow RF. Pino: 9 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 5 K, 99 pitch complete game shutout. Peoria loses game one of this best-of-3, 2-0. :(
  19. Nathan, CBS is right. Cubs are up 1-0 and Bay didn't hit a HR.
  20. Haha, in the Peoria playoff game, Nathan Balivia even announced that Bay hit a HR off Hill. 8-[ Speaking off, Peoria is 3 outs away from losing game 1 of their playoff series (they're down 2-0).
  21. Rayborn still in for the 8th inning: Rayborn vs. Betsill: Popout. One out. Rayborn vs. White: Ball 1. Groundout, 4-3. Two outs. Rayborn vs. Tintor: Strike 1. Ball 1. Strike 2. Ball 2. Groundout, 5-3. Atkins: 6 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 3 K, WP, 90 pitches Rayborn: 2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K, 31 pitches. After 8, Beloit leads Peoria 2-0.
