  1. <-- off to start the thread criticizing Raisin for being on the list of potential managers. :hsughwiggle: =; I don't fight with my supervisors, I've never called for a suicide squeeze in Game 7 of the World Series and I'm not Lou Piniella. I should call Hendry and ask why he hasn't hired me yet.
  2. Agreed (though Hermanson had a ridiculous stretch early last season). My point was actually about Jenks in the postseason - though that makes little sense since the starting pitching and the HRs were related to the regular season.
  3. That would leave this board with people posting completely unconnected opinions, never addressing what anyone else thought unless they agreed That would be dumb I agree...but sheesh...it seemed like my opinion of McDonough really offended him. I don't believe that anybody is offended by your opionions. Those that have responded to you, including the moderators, have taken afront at the way you deliver those opinions. I suspect that if you don't heed their advice, you'll be meeting a fellow called Modzilla. Where have I personally attacked anyone on the board in this thread? I don't like McDounough, which dates back to the ticket scalping incident. He is a salesman and I don't trust him. And the hire/promotion angers me. If you are gonna ban me for not having optimistic attitude, then so be it. No, you haven't personally attacked a poster on the board. You've been asked by two moderators to stop giving insulting names to those working for the Cubs. This is a rule of NSBB. No one is asking you to start having an optimistic attitude. You can criticize people associated with the Cubs without resorting to insults.
  4. What are you wearing? Mr. Foley, leave me alone. Well done. :)
  5. He's working on trading vance to another board I hear the deal is Vance to WSI for Jabroni and a troll to be named later. :D Don't I have 10-5 rights or something? I do know that I have a ten message board no-trade list, and WSI is on it. I'd probably approve a trade to RedsZone or Newberg Report. You'll have 10-5 rights on 21 Feb 2009.
  6. 2005 Whitesox. Worked out pretty well for them . The '05 White Sox were a below average offense. Okay, now I'm done, I mean it. Hopefully you're done. Because everything you just said is not even close to being true. Outside of his fact? Small ball works. Worked for the 05 Whitesox, and it works throughout baseball. It's often counterintuitive and hurts the team. I've seen it hurt the Twins and Tigers already once each today. And the 05 White Sox was built around a fantastic starting rotation, a good closer and a team that hit 200 HRs (that made up for their other deficiencies on offense).

  8. I didn't realize forearm tightness was a season ending injury? And here this whole time I though they were overly cautions since there was only 2 1/2 weeks left in the season and playoff hopes had faded. So it didn't end his season?
  9. At this rate, I'll be the only one left on the list of potential Cubs managers. :)
  10. Is this model working for us? Should we look for a new road? I think we should. Heck, even some fresh blood from outside tribune would even be a better option. It's like impeaching Bush...is Cheney any better? Or impeaching Clinton?.....ya like Gore? I just can't agree with brining someone from in house to fix this. Wait, the Cubs just tried a new road, they dumped a president with baseball knowledge for one without.
  11. Even with better pitchers starting the rest of the series, I think the Tiggers are gonna get swept. Ooo, Robertson finally got an out in the third inning.
  12. I'm sure they have had some time of baseball experience in terms day to day baseball operations. This guy has done nothing but scalp tickets and peddle beanie babies in the Cubs organization. I know most of us are frustrated and wallowing in negativity, but Christ, man...do you ever let this schtick up? Maybe when they make a move in the right direction. Well see when that happens. They took a step foward with Dusty, but stepped back by annointing a president with no tatical baseball knowledge(admit by McDonough himself)
  13. Sunday I thought it was Our president is a glorified ticket scalper Does everyone (besides Girardi) have to have a negative nickname? Calling it as I see it...or hear it... in this case. This guy should not be a team president of any baseball team. In that case - as Serena said - call out his negatives, don't use the nicknames.
  14. Something about you and airplanes, eh Tim?

  16. Did he confuse the Cubs with the Bears?
  17. Just because Giradi had a very young team that wasn't paid a lot doesn't mean he didn't have talent. And he had a losing record.
  18. You sure aren't Charlie from Joliet.
  19. And thanks for the online feed link, Serena.
  20. I'm surprised they have a problem with LSU, but I'm not surprised they like Oregon and ND, who have played fairly tough schedules so far. LSU doesn't seem too low. And not at all shocking that the BCS doesn't like West Virginia.
  21. How many can win without talent?
