  9. I don't think so. 23 innings at extended spring training, 30.2 at Eugene. Including tomorrow, he probably has 3 more regular season starts and then maybe a playoff start. He's probably not topping 65 (including extended spring training) if he doesn't get shut down.

  11. Dammit. I'll be there a day too late then. Probably some [expletive] theme for the day game on Wednesday, but either way I'll be drunk. Just go to Lolita's across the street.
  12. Eloy is back in South Bend's lineup. Duane Underwood Jr is their starting pitcher.
  13. TLS is going to Iowa after all. But he's still too big for minor league press. [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. The Cubs have a 30 pitch/inning cap on their minor leaguers but it's just not as practical to enforce that in the big leagues. That seems reasonable and logical on both accounts, but I don't think Joe would let Arrieta, Lester, etc. throw 70 pitches in 1.2 innings. Letting Strasburg do it with his history and money he's owed seems incredibly reckless. Agreed, especially considering the score of that game.
  15. Are we still paying for him? Yep. It's the last year of his Cubs contract.
  16. I always worry about that when a pitcher gets to 36+ pitches in an inning. I worry about Hammel after his disaster inning yesterday. Wish we had a team policy that youre done after 35 in one inning. Who was it that we made throw 40 in one inning the other day? Itll be interesting to see if he starts to have arm problems. The Cubs have a 30 pitch/inning cap on their minor leaguers but it's just not as practical to enforce that in the big leagues.
