    So in attempting to curb a "problem" (Cubans 23-25 who aren't restricted by the bonus caps) that won't be a problem much longer (we've nearly tapped out the Cuban market plus the improving relations between countries surely means player procurement will change soon), we're now restricting potential game-changing talent from coming from Asia.     At the least, I'd be interested in a 1-year deal for a guy of Fister's caliber due to Montgomery's innings constraints.

    Hah. I've watched like one quarter of UCLA football (and watched no Bears football and about 2 minutes of Bulls basketball) ever since the playoffs started. Still can't get invested.

    Tyler Webb is an interesting guy for this team's needs but they aren't in a situation where they can stash a guy so it probably doesn't matter.

    Is one of these guys gonna be worth that investment? Watson certainly won't be. Maybe Kizer? But I'd rather get the best player, especially when you've got a chance at a Myles Garrett, Jonathan Allen or Jabrill Peppers.

    I realize that this line of thinking is bordering on the cliche, but I love Bauer's stuff out of the pen if it turns out that he's not going to be as effective a starter as promised. With that said, I think he can be quite valuable in the rotation. Would be interested in seeing what it takes. Bauer does take like an hour to warm up and is pretty stubborn about his routine so there'd be added risk to him taking to relieving.

    They can't offer a QO to Chapman and get a draft pick because he was acquired midseason. They likely won't offer Hammel the QO because it's around $17M and they just turned down a $12M option for him.
