  1. Can't believe Maddon didn't even have anyone up in the pen to start the inning. Inexcusable.
  2. Might want to get him, Joe. Third time through the lineup, over 100 pitches, etc. No one could've seen this coming.
  3. Unless you live within 5 miles of the coast, LA summers and falls are actually garbage.
  4. [tweet]https://twitter.com/carriemuskat/status/883821480051699713[/tweet]
  5. While the Rangers, Red Sox and Yankees can get up to a pool of $8.3125 million, they have to subtract all their numerous July 2 signings from that amount. And so far, only the Red Sox have made a trade to increase their bonus pool. The Red Sox spent $5.3 million on four guys (that's already taking out each guy's first $300k and I have no idea if they got anyone else over $300k) so they have $3 million for Otani if they maxed out their cap space. Obviously that's more than the $300k the Cubs can offer but at least the gap is a lot closer than we first assumed.
  6. Finally!! [tweet]https://twitter.com/carriemuskat/status/883789167842525185[/tweet]
  7. Would love him even more if the Yankees didn't horsefeathers with his hair.
  8. Ryan Braun left the game with a leg injury. Also, screw the Brewers because of their broadcasters: [tweet]https://twitter.com/travis_mke/status/883766660338941952[/tweet]
  9. DJ Wilson is back with South Bend.
  10. This. They can take the entire Iowa and Tennessee rosters for all I care, but if we're moving Happ or Eloy, we'd best be getting something along the lines of Sonny Gray. Forget Gray and his 426 different injuries. If they're dealing Eloy, it better be for Archer or Stroman.
  11. paredes hit a second home run. eugene are facing an 18 year old pitcher named Henry Henry. Reminds me of former minor league pitcher Jose Jose.

  13. That was my thinking with Hahn. I don't think the Orioles are ready to give up on Gausman yet.
  14. And yet it's tied :banghead: Pretty shitty the Cubs had to play the Yankees during the month they were competent and the Brewers get them now. Oh, now you're pulling Clippers, Girardi???
  15. The Brewers have committed 5 errors and they're only in the 4th so there's definitely something in the water today in the NL Central.
  16. Callis isn't sure yet (and he's one of the best): [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. Looks like I'm incorrect. Sounds like he has a strong commitment but I wonder if uncapped money would do the trick. Would be nice if the Cubs could pounce on him or Rasmussen (and we know they were pretty interested in Rasmussen).
  18. Yeah. I'll play devils advocate though. I'd say there IS a "chance" that these guys are allowed to sign, unrestricted by the draft. Have no idea what MRI Program consists of. If for no other reason, the player is screwed by teams having all their money tied up already....Giving them that "opportunity" isn't much of one..... So, I'll hold out a slim bit of hope they're true FA.... On Conlon, it sounds moot, as he seems headed to A&M.... Devils advocate on that: Why wouldn't certain players then game the system and get numerous teams to bid them up to a 7- or 8-figure bonus?
  19. Things definitely could've changed with the new CBA. That was the rule with the old CBA.
  20. [tweet] [/tweet] Including the overage, the Cubs can go as high as $572,450 on Vazquez. His slot is $285,800.
  21. FTC horsefeathers the Closer horsefeathers the Cycle
  22. Question - They can only go to $125K without potential penalty though, right? Well, they might have some wiggle room depending on what Vazquez signed for but yes, they'll have to fit any free agents under their cap.
  23. Is the point of replay to just justify umpiring shittiness?
