  1. You should put Bote McBoteFace in there.
  2. Why did the ump allow Bour to walk after that strike zone against Hancock and Báez?
  3. This is the only time Maples was passed over. All of the guys called up besides Hancock were long men/spot starters, something Maples isn’t. And I’d probably have called up Maples over Hancock. How come? I know it's only 14 and 10 innings, but Maples is still walking everyone and Hancock isn't...and it's not like Maples has some long track record of success to where you lean his way. And both throw very hard. Not great reasons but already being on the 40-man and Maples does have a decided K/9 and K% advantage over Hancock.

What about Farrell and Mazzoni or whatever his name was? Farrell, Tseng and Zastryzny were all treated as innings eating long men or spot starters of some sort. You’re right that Mazzoni isn’t a long man but the way he was sent right back down shows he was only there as a bridge to the bullpen day replacing a Darvish, so I wouldn’t hold that against Maples either.
  5. The Mets batted out of order in the first inning. The Mets then batted out of order again in the second inning.

  9. He must speak some English seeing as he didn't need any of the questions translated. Probably just wasn't interested in doing an interview on live TV in his second language, especially as a rookie.
  10. I might be too. Almora’s “cousin” vs Bryant’s BFF. One of them better come through.
  11. Rodriguez went 10, Larnach 21, Rocker 22, Casas 23, Weathers 25, Eierman 26, Scott 27, and Denaburg 32. Jonathan India went 4! Yeah, I'm not big on taking a HS catcher in the first round. Too risky and recent history says it's a bad idea. Where did Carter Stewart and Cole Winn go? Winn went 11, Stewart 15 and, you didn’t ask but Hankins went 17.
  12. BA mock. Not crazy about drafting a prep catcher: https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/mlb-mock-draft/ Rodriguez went 10, Larnach 21, Rocker 22, Casas 23, Weathers 25, Eierman 26, Scott 27, and Denaburg 32. Jonathan India went 4!

  16. 13 you dummy 14 you dummy. Which just means we're only going to score 1 total between the next two games. Crap. My bad.
  17. Nate Pearson was hit by a line drive on his throwing elbow in his season debut today. Broken ulna.
  18. Yeah, I’d rather have seen Alzolay on my TV at Wrigley and we were a day away from getting that.
  19. No, you’re right. It was listed as Roth last night. Brad Markey is actually the starter now for Iowa Yeah. Have to think Tseng will start for the big league team tomorrow with Darvish out.
  20. It’s a spot start. Darvish will be eligible to come off the DL in time for his next start, and even if he doesn’t, Montgomery will slot into the rotation instead of Tseng.
  21. Corresponding move tomorrow. Jen-Ho Tseng was scheduled to start for Iowa today but is no longer in their lineup.
  22. No, you’re right. It was listed as Roth last night.
  23. I hope you're right. I'm biased and I know that, but this Cubs regime really stresses the concept of "makeup" and having good character. This organization is much more likely to draft someone like Chris Singleton (who is a very impressive young man) than take a chance on someone with questionable makeup like Heimlich. Stressing good character?
