I know the technical overage amount requires signings and until they're finalized that's in doubt, but given how likely it is for Top 10 picks to sign, I feel that number has more practical use in guiding these conversations. There is, granted, a ton of time between now and October, but the playoffs are ideally 3-plus weeks long and it would not bode well for us to win if the wacky up-and-down play were going on then. That’s kind of what we did in the World Series though And that year’s NLCS.
