  1. Of course the Cardinals would pick up this strategy Rockies were up and in a few times too.
  2. So are teams intentionally pitching Bryant near his head now?
  3. Heyward should’ve at least kept that to a single but the umpire should’ve rung up Wong on the previous pitch too.
  4. Why is a Cardinal fan quote tweeting me about his jerking off habits? https://twitter.com/kwwein/status/993320847984095232?s=21
  5. South Bend's website makes it sound like Albertos' move to the bullpen is permanent, which is dumb when Extended Spring Training should be a better option:

  7. DeRosa was better on defense and more athletic. I mean I haven't watched Bote enough to be absolutely sure, but I remember DeRosa was very good defensively at 2B and 3B. Bote started at SS the other night, I don’t think he really is projected to be more than an emergency back up SS at the ML level but I think he’s plenty athletic. Yeah, something went wrong if Bote is starting at short in the big leagues. It’s definitely an emergency-only situation. In the minors, utility guys will play tougher positions (SS, CF) a lot more than he ever will in the majors.
  8. I see a bit of DeRosa in him. I made that same comp in a game thread while he was up. I think it’s a pretty solid one. I definitely stole that comp from somewhere. Might’ve been you.
  9. Bote is legit in my mind. I think he could start at second for some teams. He didn't look great in his short time with the Cubs, but he looked WAY better than Zagunis. I like him and liked his approach when he was up. He seems like a 2nd division starter or bench player on a good team. If Happ doesn’t get it going I wouldn’t mind Bote coming up for him while Happ gets reset in Iowa. I see a bit of DeRosa in him.
  10. Me in public: Me in my man cave: I’m happy for Gleyber. Cubs don’t win Game 5 of the WS without Chapman. But I could really use without seeing Chapman celebrating the walk-off since it bugs me no end that the Yankees got Torres for him and then re-signed him. Also don’t like seeing Chapman happy since he’s a horrible human.
  11. Underwood ended up with 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K. 27 K and 4 BB with a 3.25 ERA in 27.2 innings this season. @TransmogrifiedTiger
  12. Fernando Kelli hit an inside-the-park home run yesterday: https://www.thecubreporter.com/05052018/giants-orange-celebrate-cinco-de-mayo-cubs-expense
  13. Gleyber just hit a walk-off 3-run HR for the Yankees.
  14. Monasterio should definitely be in the conversation for current top 30 lists. The back of the top 30 currently is very weak and. Monasterio is holding his own at A+ in his age 21 season. At the very worst, he’s looking like a potential big league utility guy. Same goes for Jhonny Pereda at age 22 in A+. I haven’t heard defensive reports for either of them.
  15. Oh horsefeathers. Flew back to LA to get checked out. And biceps injuries seem to be precursors to TJS.

  17. Yeah, he’s pretty old too. I’d definitely push him to AA. Clifton can go to the bullpen.
