  1. Padres acquire the 74th pick from the Twins to take on Phil Hughes and some of his salary.
  2. https://www.thecubreporter.com/05262018/ryan-williams-and-erling-moreno-throw-game-riverview Moreno was consistently at 96-98? You buried the lede, Raisin... He’s topped out at 98 in the past and this was only a 2 inning stint so I didn’t think it was that noteworthy.
  3. No no no, Ronald Acuña might have just broken his ankle. Well, he’s walking off on his own power now. Watch the replay at your own peril.
  4. Ryan Williams is back, but down to 81-83 mph. Erling Moreno is back too: https://www.thecubreporter.com/05262018/ryan-williams-and-erling-moreno-throw-game-riverview
  5. Matt Swarmer is expected to make his next start on Wednesday.

  7. There is no reason to ever NOT backdate a DL stint, so that really isn't encouraging in the slightest. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk The Dodgers didn't backdate Kershaw's injury this year.

  9. accept the fact that they're better and it will become easier actually that doesn't make it easier at all. why the horsefeathers is cubs baseball so sad these days God are we going to horsefeathering do this horsefeathers on here 2 years in a row? It’s like I’ve gone back in time to July 2017. It’s horsefeathering May still, slow your damn roll. Maybe it will turn out different but this team has played like a 90 win team in the first halves under Joe and 109 win team in second halves. This happens every horsefeathering year except 2016 and yet many can’t just chill out and enjoy the greatest run of Cubs baseball in pretty much forever. 3 out of the last 4 years.* The Cubs were out of a playoff spot until the 4-game series against the Giants in 2015. ETA: I hate when I think I'm responding to the last post in a thread and then realize there's been a full page after the post I responded to.
  10. Non-reviewable, they said. Fwiw, I'm guessing it would've been one of those that stayed the same as the original call regardless. How dumb.
  11. I was out during the foul double. Why wasn’t it reviewed and overturned?
  12. This is a bit old but still: https://twitter.com/kazuto_yamazaki/status/996937270262358017?s=21
  13. With Chatwood starting tomorrow, Maddon’s hook really sucked there.
  14. Did Len intentionally say Schwarber crunched that?
  15. 9 swinging strikes through 2 for Q is fantastic.
  16. Surprised Hernandez didn’t bluff home more, Rizzo was a long ways from 1st. Just very weird by Hernandez. Báez wouldn’t have stayed at third.
  17. Keegan Thompson: 6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 K.
  18. What’s bizarre is I felt his stuff the last two starts looked like normal (pre-Cub) Yu Darvish. Obviously with pitchers, who the horsefeathers knows, and guys still pitch through these things frequently. Or maybe it happened in a side session, etc. But this timing is odd. Yeah idk, hopefully it’s more precautionary than anything and if it is something hopefully they caught it early to mitigate it being a bigger thing. Also, https://twitter.com/carriemuskat/status/1000511265083715584?s=21 She went on to correct herself and say triceps. We’ll see if it’s so minor that he only misses 2 starts.
  19. When is his spot due up next in Iowa? He’s gonna be needed Wednesday. He’s had a few bad starts in a row though. I assume they’ll go with Montgomery.
