  1. This would be a lot better if the Cubs hadn’t just traded their best pitcher.
  2. MLB Pipeline Top 100: Brailyn Márquez - 60 Brennen Davis - 61 Miguel Amaya - 89
  3. I see things got so bad for Chris Bosio, he switched to coaching football.
  4. I'm not sure how good Tua is but getting him for the 20th overall pick while he's still on his rookie deal is probably the best outcome for us this offseason.
  5. The warts with Locker were obvious to anyone who watched any Pac-12 football. But again, raw's point is to get good coaching and trust the the athlete/tools is true. The NFL is more willing to run college concepts these days then they were when Locker and Vince Young came to the NFL. While this is true, I think it's important to point out that NSDU uses more NFL concepts than most college teams. They do a lot under center and run true playaction concepts in the pass game. In comparison, Zach Wilson at BYU almost does 0 under center. Yes, very good point.
  6. Yeah, he does. But he's playing with slower, weaker teammates than the Power 5 guys as well. Size, arm, athleticism reminds me of another FCS guy who ran around the competition from back in the day, Steve McNair. That seems like a good comp, but he could also turn out to be Jake Locker or Ryan Tannehill. I just don’t think he’s worthy of a 1st round pick. 7. I agree that Pitts is a beast. Najee Harris runs much more violently, ala Derrick Henry, than Forte ever did. You didn't mention him, but I do not get the love for Trey Lance. He just seems like a guy. Lance is extremely risky to me. Picking him over Fields seems insane. I know Lance has played far fewer games than Mahomes and Allen but I thought the same thing about those two and look how they turned out. I guess if you actually have a good coaching staff and system, it matters a lot less. (For the record, I agree with you.)
  8. Sewell 3rd ranked OT? That’s insanity. Chase at 2 if you’re just ranking based on pure overall talent, sure. Obviously no way he goes #2. I think Toney is gonna be good. Don’t get the Forte comp with Najee, and everyone has him ahead of Etienne at the moment. Wouldn’t be surprised if Javonte Williams ends up being the best back in this class. I don’t care much about defense in this draft either, but love Parsons, of course. Probably has the highest floor of any player in the draft along with HOF upside. Also like Zaven Collins in the back half of the first round. Sewell is actually Jeremiah's 2nd ranked OT, behind Rashawn Slater. I like the Najee/Forte comp but Najee is definitely more physical.
  9. this is dumb because while Mitch turned out not to be the answer, Nagy knew who he was when he took the job and at the time glowingly talked about him. Nagy was brought in to develop Mitch, not install his offense. Somehow, that has reversed. Nagy shares responsibility in the mess Trubisky had 12 games as a rookie under John Fox at the time of Nagy's hire - the jury was definitely out on Trubisky at the time. And, let's be real, Nagy wasn't going to horsefeathers on his starting QB when he was hired. I'm not denying Nagy doesn't share some responsibility too.
  10. I'm expecting Jimmy G or Darnold, with Garoppolo being the likely one of the two. Jimmy G is my guess too. Unless it's Dak or Watson, I hope they don't trade draft picks.
  11. I agree with this 100%. Mack was his bold move because he thought he had his QB. I guess Robinson could be considered a big move, because he was the highest paid FA WR that year. But every move Pace has made has been with the frame of mind that Trubisky either was his QB or could be his long-term QB. Even down to the Brady and Bridgewater interest last offseason. The Bears probably could have gone a little more for either QB, but wanted to give Trubisky 1 more shot. I think this year, Pace is more desperate than he has ever been. As mediocre as this team is, they still have gone 28-20 with 2 playoff berths with bottom 1/3 QB play. So, I have no doubt Pace will give up as much as it takes to add an elite QB or elite QB prospect. Say Pace is able to get a marked improvement at QB, do we trust that'll translate to an uptick in offense under Nagy? I'm not certain it'll happen, he's gutless and has a tendency of playing not to lose against good teams. Sure Mitch sucked, didn't help he was deliberately handcuffed, not all of the success Mitch had was because he was facing bad defenses. Most of it, maybe, 95%, but, still, not all. This feels like a chicken or egg situation that we can't answer yet because Nagy never had a chance to run an offense with a competent QB.
  12. Time to set the franchise back 5 years!
  13. Finally a chance for Indian-Americans to respond to our parents when they ask why we aren’t on track to be a future US Vice President: I know Sam Acho liked him a lot. So does Kyle Long:
  14. They should bring back Szcur
  15. OP has been updated with the names of all 16 known Cubs signings.
  16. 63. Márquez 78. Davis 88. Howard 89. Amaya
  17. horsefeathers the Ricketts
  18. https://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/article/64061/2021-prospects-the-top-101/ I don’t have a BP subscription but looking around Twitter, it looks like Davis, Amaya, Márquez and Howard all made their top 101.
