  1. The new outfielder looked good.
  2. Rucker’s slider (or cutter?) looked really good today.
  3. Oops, Yonathan Perlaza...Part of the comment was that he was a favorite of opponent scouts Do you have a link for their 31-40 or is it in their handbook?
  4. 2 Breakout Prospects from every Team: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/two-2021-breakout-mlb-prospects-for-every-farm-system/?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email#Cubs
  5. It's young and talented in the middle, it's old and bad on the tackles. It's going to be tough if they trade for Wilson, but they have the opportunity to draft competence in the 2nd or 3rd if they so choose. Whitehair might be just a guy now. And hopefully Mustipher is for real good. But either way, that's about right, I guess I just don't call that "emerging". Just kind of existing? Whitehair was well above average once he moved to LG in the second half (of course there is a question of the quality of opponents during the win streak at the end). I'm going to need to see more from Mustipher; ideally they wouldn't go to camp next year with some competition for him. Either way, like goony, I'm definitely more confident on the interior than the tackles. With the number of cuts across the league, hopefully adding a guy like Wilson will help them attract competent players on the cheap.
  6. Are the nano bubbles screwing up Russ’s judgement?
  7. I forget where I saw it (a recent Longenhagen Chat?), but It sounds like his exit velocities are kind of ridiculous too. That'd be a fun as hell profile to add. And as loaded as the system is at catcher, there's room in the pipeline in between Amaya and Hearn. That said, fun college hitters always get pushed up the board as we get closer to draft day, so even though he looks to go in our range now I doubt that'll be true by July. And college catchers get pushed up too so I think it's more likely Davis will be in the top 10 than available for the Cubs.
  8. I saw the A’s were considering moving their alt site/AAA group from San José last year to Stockton in hopes they could scrimmage with the Giants group who are in nearby Sacramento. I wonder if the Cubs would move their alt site to Chicagoland this year to more easily be able to play the White Sox.
  9. He looks like a very intriguing reliever but I hope they keep him starting in the minors for now.
  10. That Brendon Little curve looks good.
  11. BA released their top 20 free agents and the Cubs are surprisingly not linked to any of them. The Dodgers, who are also one of the top teams in Latin America, aren't linked to anyone on this list. That said, some Cuban free agents aren't on their board yet because BA isn't sure who will sign them so their big board will have more changes.
  12. Gunnar Hoglund is working 93-96 which is a slight velocity bump. Kiley has him 8th overall. I’m getting the impression 2022 draft pick Elijah Green might the best prep prospect since Bryce Harper. Kiley said HS junior Elijah Green would be the first pick overall this year if he was eligible and BA and FG are also huge fans.
  13. Brennen won’t be the only prospect NRI:
  14. Wicks was 89-91 last year so that’s nice. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2021-mlb-draft-stock-watch-first-round-college-pitching-prospects/?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email
  15. Zach's an all-star and they're the 6-seed. Hell yeah.
  16. So Jack Leiter is now working 96-100 (if the TV gun is to be believed) which was definitely not something he could do last year.
