    Despite the lack of success of first round prep catchers, I really liked that pick. That said, I'd be pretty interested in moving him off catcher given his athleticism and speed.

    I think it's a sign Russ deal is dead, perhaps because the Bears decided they had to horsefeathers or get off the pot and move to plan D. But if next week it magically reappeared, they could find a way. 40M QB room be damned.

    MLB Pipeline top 30 is out: https://www.mlb.com/prospects/cubs/ Cristian Hernández is at 4, higher than Ed Howard. Other higher than expected: Piñango at 14, Keegan Thompson at 15, and Brendon Little at 30 (though the latter two have been pitching well at ST so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised).

    Acquiring a competent QB would probably help. Just in terms of Arobs willingness to agree to something you mean? Yeah.

    Yea. Certainly the cap mechanics are less complicated if they can extend him and lower the 2021 hit. Anything is possible, but an extension is preferable unless you had some concern about locking him into his late 20s. Acquiring a competent QB would probably help.
