  1. No, I'm guessing he'd still be unmotivated. I still think he's going to struggle quite a bit as we progress this season, but even then, I think he's shown the Royals enough that they'll keep him.
  2. Look at Wuertz's numbers as a reliever only in the minors, they are a better indicator of how he'll do as a major league reliever. As a reliever, he was able to throw his fastball harder, since he was going shorter stints. This allowed him to be more effective. He has also improved his changeup for this season. He isn't our best reliever (LaTroy is), but Wuertz has been one of the most effective (and still is).
  3. Yeah, I jumped off the Dusty ship last week. I couldn't take anymore.
  4. And Dusty doesn't bring in the infield. ](*,) And he extended Zambrano one hitter too many, he does that to the pitchers waaaaaay too often.
  5. I think he has probably shown enough, even at this early stage, to stick with KC even if he sucks the rest of the way. After he has the requisite time in, they can DL him if they choose. He already has a substantial chunk eaten away toward that time. Unfortunately, I think he is pretty much gone. The KC talent evaluators deserve credit. At this point and time, I'm guessing it's going to take something drastic for him to come back, and it would be something that would probably excite us far less when he returns. I don't know how much credit KC talent evaluators should get - everyone knew he'd be one of the top picks in the draft, if KC already knew his fastball was back and he was back in shape, good for them. Even if they didn't, it was a good selection and gamble. EDIT: That's not to say he won't struggle like his major league debut (he will), but as JC said, he's shown enough and KC obviously likes him enough to stick with him.
  6. Thats funny, cause I get a similar feeling that some people here will have posted ad nauseam "Macias Still Sucks"; "Fire Dusty NOW" when Dusty has his first 4 game losing streak. I guess I should just wait until the end of the season when Dusty delievers the 3rd straight winning season (something which hasn't been done in my lifetime) and then respond to those "Fire Dusty" comments. The most talented Cubs team post-World War II would have a winning season three consecutive years if I managed. Winnings three seasons in a row means nothing, they don't give out championship rings for just having a good season.
  7. Wow. Hopefully heart surgery won't be needed. Get better Eddy.
  8. I'm not a fan of Griffin and Piatkowski, hopefully they aren't getting playing time late in close games in the playoffs.
  9. Oh geez. Tyson will probably get suspended a game for that. Bulls have trimmed the deficit to 11 and have possesion.
  10. It did end 2-0. They got an extra run late in the game (7th inning?). And to the second paragraph, all I can say is #-o.
  11. Bulls, plz stop sucking. :( I want homecourt advantage.
  12. I think I share the unhealthy obsession with you. He's on all my fantasy teams. And Dierker is cool for me as a manager, but it's all about Jim Tracy for me. Of course he won't be leaving the Dodgers anytime soon. :(
  13. Vance, if I read ZZ correctly, he's trying to say what Dusty is thinking. Can't disagree with that. Dusty doesn't think creatively. I wouldn't mind seeing Fontenot get the start at 3B over Neifury.
  14. The Cubs are going up against one of the best pitchers in baseball and their best hitter won't be in the lineup. Loverly.
  15. Nilodnayr, personal attacks aren't allowed here.
  16. The Cubs acquired Randolph after the rosters were set and the Rule 5 draft took place.
  17. Wow, ZZ. This was even funnier than UK's comment about Hairston biking from Naperville.
  18. dkwg, I'm pretty sure the Cubs can backdate 60-day DL stints. Didn't the Cubs do that with Prior last season?
  19. According to the Trib article, that prospect sounds very weak at best I have a feeling we'll be seeing an article that says "WALKER OUT FOR SEASON" tomorrow... Ugh... it's Corey all over again, except it's much earlier in the season. Hendry made it work in 2003; can he do it again? Yeah, this has the feeling of Corey in 03. :( The Cubs have a very capable second baseman, the only worry in regards to Jerry Hairston Jr. is that he is injury prone.
  20. Adam Dunn hit a HR today, it bounced off a fan and onto the field of play and the Astro RF rifled it back in. Umps missed the ball leaving the park and Dunn is stuck with a triple. Poor Rocket. :(
  21. Hairston can hit second, leave Corey in the leadoff position. Let's just leave him in one spot with the whole year for once. Enough of this yo-yoing him up and down in the order. I doubt it will happen. Dusty seems intent on batting Hairy 1 and Corey 2 when they're both in the lineup.
