  1. RBI double for Johnny Defendis makes it 1-0 Boise in the bottom of the 4th. He just missed a HR.
  2. Maybe Donnie wants to skip Peoria? 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 9 K, 1 BB. He's been throwing that fastball 92-93. The 9 Ks is a season high for a Boise pitcher.
  3. Excellent. He's on my wish list for Peoria next season. He should be there, at least to start the season. The Boise announcer is now hanging out with Scott Taylor and Darin Downs as they chart pitches. It's really staticy, but pretty cool to hear him announcing from the crowd.
  4. I'm only 26 hours and 44 minutes away! Though, I am only need to take 3 freeways to get to Jackson. Sweet, you can make it in time for the game Friday! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v177/Navinda/mq-mapgend.gif You make the drive, I'll buy you dinner. It's a straight shot! ha ha If you leave right after the game tonight, you could take a slight detour through Dallas and I'll put you up for the night. It's only 8 hours from here. Haha, awesome. I can bring you along to Jackson, then. Actually, I have a grand uncle who lives in Denton.
  5. Uhh, Donald Veal is putting on a show, striking out the side AGAIN. 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 7 K, 1 BB

  7. Nice. Are you watching or listening? Was watching (trying to watch and listen to Ron) but my comp gave up on trying to manage both. I'm listening now, I'll view the video later tonight (they save the video, so you can see prior games too). Veal: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 4 K, 1 BB
  8. I'm only 26 hours and 44 minutes away! Though, I only need to take 3 total freeways to get to Jackson.
  9. In Boise, Donnie Veal struck out the side in the first.
  10. Chad Billingsley (13-6, 3.51 ERA) Nah, can't be. He plays for Jacksonville.
  11. Does anyone know who the starting pitcher is for Carolina?
  12. Thanks! I was very impressed by Blackford. However, he threw 57 pitches and 51 of them were fastballs so I'd really have liked to see another pitch or two. But having said that, he shut down the best offense in the league over 5 innings with just a fastball that was 90-92. Guzman got hit hard on Monday. He was encouraged though. I talked to him after the game and he was happy with his performace. He made a mistake on the HR but his fastball was good and he had more command with the curve than he did on Tuesday. Berg's command on Monday was very sharp. He ran out of gas in the 9th inning but was very good through his first 3 innings. He moved the ball in and out and up and down. I expect he could be at the front of Peoria's rotation in 2006 along with Blackford. (and hopefully Pawelek!) Who else do you anticipate being in Peoria's rotation next year besieds Berg, Blackford and Pawelek? I figure Donald Veal, Darin Downs , Jesus Yepez, Matt Avery and/or Scott Taylor all have a good chance.
  13. Since you're bored, Nathan :D: What was your first impression of Blackford and what did you think of Berg and Guzman in their second Chiefs appearance?
  14. West Tenn: LHP Renyel Pinto (10-3, 2.78 ERA) vs. Josh Johnson (12-4, 3.87 ERA) Boise: LHP Donald "Donnie" Veal (1-2, 3.00 ERA, 24 IP, 24 K, 13 BB) & LHP Mark Pawelek (Boise: 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 3 IP; Overall: 0-3, 2.54 ERA, 46 IP, 60 K, 22 BB) vs. RHP Kellen McConnell (6-5, 6.07 ERA) Veal starts and Pawelek will piggyback.
  15. we were asked who we think should win, not who we think will. OK, smart ass the guy has been out half a year yet people think he should win? No way. No personal attacks, please.
  16. You were the player of the game. And the Boise announcer is discussing the possibility that Scott Taylor makes the jump to Peoria to start next season.
  17. Hawks go down 1-2-3 in the 9th, lose 3-1 and have been eliminated from playoff contention.
  18. Dude, I was going for the record of consecutive posts before you came and screwed things up. I should just delete your post. :-k
  19. And now 2005 first rounder John Mayberry, Jr. goes back-to-back with a monster shot all the way to the Boise River. 3-1, Spokane. :( Thompson gets the final two outs of the top of the 9th inning. To the bottom of the 9th inning we go, Boise needs at least 2 to keep their playoff hopes alive.
  20. Nick Thompson is now in to pitch. Freddy Thon hits a solo HR for Spokane and Spokane now leads it 2-1. :(
  21. Yakima leads Tri-City 1-0 in the 2nd inning. In Boise, we go to the 9th, tied at 1.
  22. Mike Safford read off my e-mail just now on the air, but didn't answer my question on how hard Taylor was throwing. :( Ortiz gets a 1-2-3 top of the 7th, Boise is tied at 1 at the 7th inning stretch. Boise goes down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 7th. To the 8th we go. Ortiz works around a 2-out IF single in the top of the 8th to keep Spokane scoreless. To the bottom of the 8th we go, tied at 1.
  23. Boise goes down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 6th. The Hawks are being 2-hit through 6, still 1-1.
  24. Jose Ortiz is struggling: Leadoff single. Walk. Strikeout looking. Walk. The red-hot Taylor Teagarden is now up, bases loaded. :( Teagarden DRIVES one, but Gregg tracks it down at the wall. What looked like a grand slam is just a sac fly, the game is tied. Thon strikes out. Game tied at 1 in the middle of the 6th.
