  1. Ahh, an instant classic.
  2. TERRY RICHARDSON 84-YARD PUNT RETURN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7-0, ASU, 5:41 left in the first quarter!!!
  3. Bama now up 17-0, still first quarter.
  4. Leinart has a cut, is on the sideline and probably will miss just one play. False start on Booty on his first play as the Trojan QB today. Matt Leinart is coming back in the game...
  5. On 3rd and long, Matt Leinart throws an incomplete pass and gets hit late and is down (stupid late hit call leads to a USC first down). Redshirt sophomore JD Booty is warming up and might come in at QB. It's 0-0 midway through the first quarter down in Tempe...
  6. What more does Dempster have to do to establish himself as a closer? He just went almost a full season only blowing 2 out of 35 save opportunities, and in the two blown saves, he got the win! If his name were Ryan Gagne, would you consider him more established? Just having a little fun with you, snood. I'm guessing you'd like to see him do it for more than just one season, and I can understand that. But, for me, I've seen enough. In my mind, he's established. Where we do agree is on the need for an established set-up man. I don't want to go into '06 with Novoa pitching the 8th. With BJ Ryan available, I have no problem solidifying the bullpen even more by signing him (though given how much Dempster will make, that would tie up too much money in the pen). It's not what Dempster has or has not done, it's how to improve the team. BJ closing and Dempster setting up could be a better investment than Dempster closing and someone else being brought in to set up.
  7. Yikes, what did Murton do to get dropped to the 7-hole (and have Corey protect him)? (I've given up on complaining about the Jose-Neifi 1-2 punch.)
  8. When his power numbers stay high for a full season. I too want Murton in LF next year.
  9. Finishing in last place gives the Cubs a better chance at Kyle Drabek or one of the UNC pitchers (Andrew Miller, Daniel Bard) in the draft. Finishing in 4th place doesn't.
  10. Luis Castillo and Marcus Giles are the only two guys I'd like to see the Cubs get if they trade Todd Walker. I think acquiring either is still a pipe dream.
  11. Just say no to Pie before Sept. 2006.
  12. Heh, out here, Nike University refers to the University of Oregon. The Washington Huskies come to Pasadena to take on UCLA this Saturday. Let's go Huskies! Boo!
  13. I'd take Nomar over the overrated Furcal without a doubt.
  14. I think LA wows them for Dunn. Couple of those pitchers and Cincy will jump. That looks like a very good match Raw. LA has too deep of a minor league system to compete with. The Dodger prospects can't be looking too hot considering a lot of those guys got to play on the big club this year. Looks like Edwin Jackson may be a bust. Very few of their top prospects got to play with the big league club this year - their top 3 prospects are some order of Joel Guzman, Chad Billingsley and Andy LaRoche. Just because Edwin Jackson hasn't been that good doesn't change how good other players are and doesn't change the fact the Dodgers have one of the two best farm systems in baseball (I think it is the best system).
  15. And just like that, I lost control of the only TV in the house that has WGN (so my grandma can see her soap operas). :( I'm off to the gym.
  16. Meh, I turn away from an 0-2 count for one minute and there are two on and none out.
  17. A lot of his numbers are, but it would have been difficult for anyone besides Bonds and Pujols to keep up his ridiculous first half pace.
