    I had to take the ACT. We didn't have the SAT down here. I never knew what the differnce was. People would tell me what they made on the SAT and I had no idea whether it was good or bad. The ACT was much, much easier than the SAT (though neither one was particularly challenging). On the new SAT, the first section is an essay and you've only got 25 minutes to plan and write it...not the way that I like to start a test. The ACT looked easier, but I was just glad I had to take one type of college entrance test.

    raisin, can you expand on this from the context? I know he was clocked a number of times in the upper 90's his draft year and following. Is Ron saying he's been clocked regularly in the upper 90's more recently? If so, when? This spring? Last summer when he wasn't very good? The reason I'm askin is that it seemed he looked pretty good and was throwing pretty hard in spring. But my recall from last summer was that he wasn't throwing quite that well, or that effectively. Has something changed, or not? Was he throwing regularly in 95-97 last year too, even when he wasn't much good? If so, it's obvious that his 95-97 is no more useful, short of improved movement or control, than it was last summer, and he's fringe prospect. But if the story is that something is changed, that for whatever reason last summer he was more 88-92, and now he's back to 91-97 again, then it's reasonable to think his prospects now are better than they were then. But if there's been no boost in his velocity, that's a differet story. Yes, Ron said Aardsma's velocity was down last year but this spring it had returned to the mid/upper 90s, topping out at 97.

    If what you say is true, then Baylor was nothing like Weaver. Like him with the home runs, not like him with the sacs. Even when it has been proven that Baylor;s teams weren't near the top of the list in terms of HRs? Did you just ignore half the posts in this thread?

    Shipp will easily replace Bozeman, both on offense and defense (and most importantly, will give UCLA an offensive player willing to go to the basket and not settle for the jumper like Arron and Jordan do). Hollins' athletic ability will be tough to replace (it will be tough getting used to not having a 7-footer, especially one with his leaping ability). Lorenzo Mata was actually starting ahead of Hollins for most of the season. I believe Lorenzo had a bad final game but he has been nails most of the season. I expect Alfred Aboya to also make a big leap next season - before his knee injury, he was supposedly more impressive than Mbah a Moute. Incoming freshman 6'8" James Keefe should also help.

    Afflalo is returning, Farmar will probably enter but not hire an agent and when he realizes he won't be a first rounder, I expect him back next year. Good. Hopefully we'll see those bastards in the national championship game next April. If they're returning their entire team, what makes you think you'd beat them next year? Because UCLA's best player should play all season, as opposed to just four games this year? (Josh Shipp)

    Iowa leads Albuquerque 4-3 in the 7th. Buck Coats with a HR. Walrond has given up 1 ER in 6 IP. WT and Birmingham are tied at 1 in the 9th, but the Jaxx are threatening. Luis Montanez is at second, Richard Lewis at first with one out. Micah Hoffpaiur flies out, Montanez tags and advances to third. Aww, Greenberg grounds out 4-3. To the bottom of the 9th, tied at 1.

    By the way, the only hit Marmol has surrendered was a blooper. That is now Marmol's final line (6 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K). He threw 71 pitches. Federico Baez now in for the Jaxx in the bottom of the 7th. Bah, he gives up a leadoff double.
