Cal was rated just a 6. USC was a 3. I would think they're missing something when it came to Texas. Yeah, that sounds about right for Cal. Jeff Tedford made it a stipulation that Cal would lessen their academic standards for football players when he was hired (which were a little harder than UCLA at the time). Meanwhile, UCLA insists they are a football school as much as a basketball school, but still has higher academic standards for football players.
