  1. They have all the financial flexibility in the world. If they're going to avoid big deals so they can keep one in the chamber for when they're close, they'll never actually get close (and fail to meet their minimum cash spending) .
  2. Mostly he's a goof who starts like 1/2 his tweets with an appeal to authority A former exec who sucked at his job yet holds himself in high regard I mean, even with the fact he sucked, he talks about his experience like he was just in the league. He got canned in 2010. Like his tidbits might have some anecdotal value, but it's not like he was a former GM.

  4. Oh man maybe they really were entertaining a Fields trade
  5. And if it had been Mumford and Sons playlist, Kmet would have too
  6. I just can't get the image out of my head of a Fields highlight tape, trucking a guy on the goal line right as the "Hey!" from the Lumineers hits. Just fire stuff
  7. Okay but I bet Von Miller didn't also request a Fields mix tape set to horsefeathers Mumford and Sons / Avett Brothers !?!?
  8. They're also sending back a 3rd. Supposedly they could have had a 2024 1st and 2023 4th instead. Loomis must really believe in Payton cuz I would have taken a chance on that 2024 1st.
  9. This is awesome. I've done some of this on a ad hoc basis, but this is just... All of it
  10. Really weird. Obviously lots of injuries, but I'd put Brisset before Huntley still (looks like Lawrence is getting alternate nod too, which he should)
  11. Want it to happen early so it opens up more "trade a 2024 FRP for a star" possibilities.
  12. I understand where you are coming from but I don't think the Bears have the luxury of using draft capital on a QB too many other holes to fill that are more likely to impact the team next year. Maybe a 7th if one makes sense or UDFA Eh it's day 3. You're not drafting for day 1 needs.
  13. Last time #1 was traded it happened 2 weeks before the draft. The 49ers trade to #3 happened in like March.
  14. No idea who, but I probably wouldn't consider before day 3 of draft. I'm kind of expecting Siemian as QB2 again next year, but hopefully some lotto ticket more interesting than Peterman for the practice squad. USFL and XFL both are playing this spring too right?
  15. What kind of horsefeathers parades his kids in front of the press conference then chastises the daughter as she quietly gestures to his side? Probably the first time he's parented his actual kids instead of his athletes.
  16. More personable than Nick.
  17. I bet on Hurts right after that season. He stayed at Bama and sat the bench behind Tua, despite being 27-2 as a starter and leading his team to consecutive national championship games (won 1, which obviously Tua took over). He then went to Oklahoma and put up a Heisman level season. He was just a guy I never counted out as an NFL QB. I thought he might be a 6th round pick and mostly a career backup who becomes a head coach after his playing career, but I knew he would have success on some level in the NFL. From all accounts, just a really good dude, who I wished all the success in this league. Man I wanted the Bears to draft him in the 2nd as competition and possible replacement for Trubisky. Basically exactly what Eagles did first few years where he was an option, but they hedged along the way. Instead we got the Foles hedge. Of course I'm happy with situation with Fields too, but even something like that was still possible. Imagine a Fields-Hurts QB room - ha.
  18. Yea it's mainly what the "Effective space" metric always was because you always had to fill out the bottom x number of roster spots (which is now almost all done with futures contracts) I'm going to guess also Reiff's incentives officially hit which was probably several million off the rollover from 2022.
  19. First new hire
  20. Would like this rumor if it wasnt from horsefeathering Allbright
  21. Oooh gotcha. That seems at odds with most current draft boards. But going into the season JSN had that type of hype. And not like he sucked, just was injured.
  22. He’s 5th in Mel’s big board, going to the Jets at 13 in his mock. Well if he really is 5th he probably would be a second rounder under most circumstance so this is him just calling him the Jets idiots then lol
  23. If it's true that Russell Wilson was so clueless that he was literally calling plays from his time in Seattle during the huddle while with Denver confusing everyone, then I'm willing to give Hackett a pass. Pete Carroll certainly didn't seem to miss Russell at all and made it pretty clear. I hadn't heard that one. But I do recall hearing about this with Favre in New York. Basically had one coach dedicated to translating the plays for him, lol.
  24. I love when the mock draft trade engines allow just outlandish scenarios. Fixed the Bears O
  25. Yea the bar is so low that Poles can just take a brunt force approach and end up with a much improved line. People will inevitably freak out about overpaying or whatever but money is the FA game and they have to spend money and there just isn't that much to spend it on internally.
