  1. I don't think 2023 had to be so clear cut. If he just didn't believe in any of the QB prospects, at least he put a real effort into the O (though I'd have liked another OL signing). But it wasn't a true waste like 2022 was. "I like Fields at 2 year cheap better than these prospects at a big 4 year guaranteed deal, but either way I'm going to get some weapons and add a OL early" is an acceptable approach to the O to me.
  2. Yea, I think that line of thinking was more likely in 2022. Fields did enough to force his hand into putting legit effort into his support for 2023, but the distinct possibility remains that 2022 broke/stunted him in some way along the way.
  3. I don't think Jenkins is unbiased in some of his points, and he harps on some of the footwork stuff in a very narrow/obsessive way (he makes it sound new, but he was talking about the same thing last year so it's no longer brand new), but always a decent listen (and alternative to 90 minutes of JT doom porn)
  4. And even a lot of their second rounders have or probably will not get second contracts. Due in no small part to the FO changeover (Daniels let walk and even in Tev gets healthy I think Poles will let him walk). JJ may walk too. Their one long term top 75 draft pick in like 6 years may end up being a average Y-TE.
  5. Not all runs are created equal. There's definitely been a lack of designed runs. And not all designed runs are created equal either. If you're not in for JTs magnum opus, this article today is a brief one showing the difference between sone of the designed run schemes from Getsy this year against some of Stiechen's designs and even the stuff Getsy did last year after week 6. Direct link too https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/lists/chicago-bears-offense-justin-fields-luke-getsy/ So yea, everyone wants to rely on his legs less, but what's there still sucks. And there's also been a lack of simple PA and PA boot stuff through 2 games. They rarely ran whole field reads last year cuz grocery baggers were at WR, but keeping some of the simple half read field stuff is fine too. Fields didn't need to becone a mvp passer over one off season.
  6. Of course, that wasamy people's concerns with the massive tank job Poles did in 2022. Which if he was dead set on tanking, why the hell didn't he capitalize on his asset either before or after? Oh Justin's supreme athletic ability put him in a tough position to move on? Dang, maybe he would have been worth trying to support, and if he still wasn't progressing after 2023 you'd have already been two years into building your core for the next QB instead of one.
  7. It's 90 minutes of blinders, and the answer is mental illness.
  8. It appears the collective Bears doom boner is so large it's taken down YouTube and JTs Fields video won't load.
  9. Given the entirety of every drop back lasts about 4 minutes (see below tweet), that means we're just gonna get 86 minutes of evisceration. 😳
  10. Bears fans have fed the doom boner cycle too well and JT O Sullivan bumped the offense torture porn to a 90(!) minute video this week. Bears fans are gonna buy that man a second home.
  11. Poles' emphasis on RAS led to an unintentional focus on personal reasons amirite
  12. I love pulling up the Bears all time receiving leaders because the first two positions are a FLANKER and LEFT END.
  13. Any short gain needs to be Fields in gun or the Philly push. Any other call isn't really worth contemplating
  14. The alternative to not sitting him is reducing his role way down for others. But you're in kind of the same spot as if you did sit him, without the benefit of elevating someone to take the extra snaps. If Scott takes up a huge percent of snaps, he's still a guy who theoretically does does well the things that should help Fields. Yea they won't have a bailout 6'3" guy, but I think JF is just as comfortable with his smaller bailout receivers as he is a throw it up target. So then it comes down to, do you want the other 30ish snaps to go to Claypool and the TEs or extra RB, or ESB, TEs, and RBs. ESB can definitely play on ST as well (although he didn't last year he did in his GB years). Then you have Velus who... Doesn't really provide much if Scott is ahead of him already on KR and WR. There's some gimmicky stuff he could replace Claypool packages with, but he basically needs to replace a ST role/extra defender since they need Taylor for PR.
  15. Yep, it Flus' HITS stands for anyyhing, good or bad, it has to at least be consistent applied.
  16. Well they did do it twice and made it to the redzone another time, even with how bad things were Sunday. I think this can totally be an outlier game for Fields. By ADOT it was. This only becomes an issue if everyone in the building so hyper fixates on it that it turns into an issue. Like the overreaction is crazy. JTs video was super informative, but there's no reason that was an hour long video (based on what his format usually is - in the building sure, there's hours of film study you could go over). There's just a lot of rage baiting and doom boner is going on with this. It was a bad performance, week 1, against their biggest rival. Ready to move onto week 2.
  17. Think he had some expected rookie RT moments, but there was enough there.
  18. One hour of Bears Offense torture porn lololol
  19. I will accept gambling man's hopium
  20. Also Vildor was the only Bears cut who was claimed off waivers.
  21. Feels like Velus to PS has to happen (though they have announced initial practice squad). I don't think there's any risk he's picked up by anyone and there's no space for him on the 53.
  22. So there's maybe Mooney trade talks going on? Maybe related cryptic tweet?
  23. Imb should bump a new unhinged thread weekly.
