  1. All indications are they figured out the right grass and care last year. Though I think we were unseasonably warm late into the season (and they used a warm season grass). And I think I saw Bhatkari said it was the best he's ever played week 1. Apparently it was Flus who pushed for the warm season grass. So if he flames out, he'll at least still have left his legacy lol
  2. Thats way too smart of a crime for them. George would try to burn down Soldier Field for the insurance payout and not realize it's the Park District that owns it.
  3. Yep. Not gonna be "entertaining" In the case I referenced it was the husband (now ex husband ) of the principal of a school. The principal (who wasn't involved at all) still had a lengthy leave and the school was likewise very close to vest on the status of her leave. Even my wife who had a relationship with the principal was totally in the dark for the first few days and thought it might be a direct legal issue with the principal. Think that took at least a week until there were formal explanations at all, and even then the school wasn't divulging much about the principal's leave, which I think ended up extending a few more weeks. So in the absolute best case AW is the "principal" here who's wrapped up a deep family matter, but there's enough other weird things I don't really expect that and presume it is directly him who's in deep legal trouble. Feels like formal charges should be relatively quick, but maybe theres circumstances where those indictments could be hidden for a time or delayed for some reason?
  4. It's possible. Although, the Bears have been extra terse in their official responses. If it was just a case of a family member, he might still get a "well wish" while out the door in the official resignation announcement. But yea, AW hasn't been directly heard from as far as I can tell. Even his resignation letter wasn't signed.
  5. If it's a CP issue then I'll speak from a 2nd hand story I'm familiar with. But certainly this is not from a trained legal view. The short answer is that there's zero chance he was tipped off.. And he was then granted his leave not from his own free recognizance, but from custody of agents. I don't think anyone has claimed that AW has been seen by anyone at HH since the initial report last week. The other possible explanation is it's not him, but someone in his home, but maybe he's not totally clears at this point.
  6. Oh there's defintiely some angry Twitter idiots who thing the beat writers are sitting on the story.
  7. People really be thinking that the solution to CP (if that is it) is to go rogue and blast it to the world rather than let Law Enforcement do their job.
  8. Guys, it takes like 2 seconds to click through a tweet and look for obvious red flags in the user profile.
  9. Yea the Bagent stuff is dumb. Maybe there's a 5% he'll make it as a long term NFLer, with a 10% of that 5% chance it's as a starter. But I'm very confident the only way that has a chance of hitting that high end is spending the entirety of 2023 as emergency QB only. Maybe by 2024 he can have a serious look as the #2, but he's a rookie from a D2 school. Everything is just about him watching and learning right now and getting reps in practice.
  10. I mean they probably don't need to worry about Bagent on waivers, but given Peterman is a vested vet, they definitely don't. So might as well take the cautious route. So Peterman will be the sacrificial roster shuffle guy (until after the trade deadline - then everyone is subject to waivers)
  11. Nope, Peterman is back on the whole ass active roster. Not a PS shuffling thing. Does not appear to have anything to do with Bagent other than you don't want to expose him to waivers. Theres probably a procedural reason for the move, but I can't figure out what. As far as I can see they stayed 53 man nuetral even without cutting him. But maybe there's a weird timing thing with the IR designation for Jones.
  12. Based on how the Bears have handled it, the only way all this isn't something very bad for Williams is that the rumors are involved with someone very close to him, perhaps someone in his home. IF that were the case it's possible the Bears are just treading extremely carefully but can't say anything even remotely specific on the matter, and perhaps to the point they can't be certain he isn't involved. But that's purely speculation. It could be the Bears also are just continuing on their often strange media decisions. But this feels different to me.
  13. On the Peterman front, I think he'll be back as the number 2. May be some procedural reason they dumped him.
  14. Our very own Sulley is being QTd by the Stoolie idiot Big Cat who's basically demanding a full on press conference lol
  15. At least from the very top, I'm gonna assume, yea, not possibly that dumb. What dumb sports guys (Poles, Flus) might do for a cover up... Way more likely. We've seen that story play out before - here recently in Chicago. But if it really is CP (not confirmed at this point), hopefully that's an obvious enough "turn him in don't cover it up" scenario
  16. Uh this doesn't sound great?
  17. I think people overrate the side change a lot, but given all the facts here I would leave him at RT. Borom should have been getting reps on both sides already as the primary backup. The "blind side" is overrated. Just go with the least movement.
  18. I would maybe wait on a status update on Alan Williams. On the off chance that the D just needed Flus scheming it to be non-terrible, maybe that 12.5 line isn't enough payoff (but try and do an alternate line at like 9.5 with a related parlay)
  19. I bet really small amount just for fun, but had a good week last week, making like $20 off $5 worth of bets. I may just plow all those winnings into it because yolo. Worst case I'm still at where I was a week ago.
  20. In all in honestly if Prime were the only hope to get Caleb to enter the draft and play for Bears then it doesn't matter, they're fucked.
  21. Unfortunately it's still a big uphill battle to even get the #1. So prime is gonna convince Caleb to play for Bears. Who's gonna convince Prime to coach for Bears lol But yea, if they get #1 again all on their own, all bets are off, but 2 games in and it's all very premature IMO.
  22. You're right, probably slightly more likely that the QB is acquired from a spot outside the top 5.
  23. I'm one of Poles earliest haters in some ways, once I realized what the 2022 plan was. Maybe I've just had more time to be comfortable with my legitimate gripes on him now, but I find it hilarious the hard turn from the fanbase over two games. Probably all the bad things are a direct risk of the long term approach they took, so duh. But also any of the benefits of said approach haven't even had time to reap the possible dividends of it.
  24. It doesn't have to be towards any specific 2024 plan. Picking a QB at 1 because that's what youre supposed to do when you have the #1 pick is pointless. If he didn't like those prospects you wait until your time. There's about an equal chance of forcing your way into a spot to get a QB than needing a top 5 pick or whatever. The key is that it has to be the right QB and not letting circumstance aimlessly dictate when you make that big investment.
