    Didn't say it was, just showing it could be "possible" to meet the demand to take on Hedo. But looking at the actual hypothetical it is, when I look at it. Rose- Hedo-Pargo Deng- Boozer-Gibson Howard- Hedo would be a stretch to play SG, but if you trade him all alone, you could try and trade for a SG with no wait (just can't combine him with other players). ie- Hedo for SJax. Plus 28th pick, 30th pick, 2nd rounder, MLE, and BAE. Its not happening plus there will be a lockout and no trades and new rules that negate any of this hypothetical (oh and Orlando holding out for better offers), but keeping 3 of your top 4 players for Howard and Hedo is a great deal from a talent standpoint.

    Assuming all the same CBA rules, if done after July 1st, Bulls could do: Joakim Noah Kyle Korver Ronnie Brewer C.J. Watson Omer Asik Keith Bogans Jonh Lucas III For Howard and Hedo (strictly from cap standpoint) The part that makes it most difficult is Noah's BYC status next year (or Poison Pill this year if you were trying to trade before July 1st). If it wasn't for the BYC, you could sub in Arenas for Hedo and do the deal by adding Pargo also. So you could manage taking on Hedo, but its still not happening.

    I'm not sure one is above either. I mean Jamal Crawford shot a rather pedestrian (for "shooter" standards) 3pt% of 34% (35% career) from 3, but with his playmaking ability and mid range ability, he is my top choice of Free Agents available. Then looking at a guy like Arron Afflalo, who is a tremendous shooter, particularly from 3, but is pretty much strictly a spot up guy. Hoopdata says 100% of his threes were assisted. 74% from 16-23. Compare that to 80% and 33% for Crawford. Now Afflalo also provides much better d, so they're pretty equal. If they were both UFA I'd actually stuggle who to choose, but with Afflalo being RFA, he isn't realistic to obtain. But either way that 8% difference in 3pt% and better defense is somewhat negated by Jamal's ability to create. So while I do feel there are some basic shooting standards we need from our SG (so eliminate a Andre Iguodala type), the ability to create is just as important. Defense would be nice too considering we will be facing the top 2 wing players in the game for the next 5 years, but overall scheme including frontcourt defense, will be just as important in that regards.

    Nobody is talking about [expletive] Bogans when they say the Bulls need a shooter. Well I hate to break it to you, but Kieth ended the season at 38% from 3 and is shooting 45% from 3 from the playoffs. One would think that would be effective if thats all you needed from your SG. The problem is that Kieth can't do anything else. Hence why everyone's been saying the Bulls' most glaring need is a quality #2 guard. Well you said they needed a quality shooter. I'll assume you misspoke and meant SG.

    But part of the reason he doesn't get more shots a game is because he isn't a threat to do anything else. If all you can do it shoot, its easier to shut down.

    They need a shooting guard who can do both to take the pressure of Rose. Korver is a pure "shooter" and we all see how that is working out. Agreed. They obviously need a good balance. Brewer in theory could create with the ball, but you say a Hail Mary every time he takes a shot past 10 feet. While you can't put an exact number on it, I'd say that assuming the SG is able to create and at least play a team defensive scheme, he merely needs to be a Derrick Rose level 3pt shooter, essentially around 1/3 of his threes. We don't need another Korver.

    As far as looking forward goes, its somewhat pointless to speculate right now. The new CBA could bring big changes. Who knows if Miami's big 3 is able to stay together past 2013.

    If a shooter is what the Bulls need right now, Bogans should get at least 30 minutes a game going forward, unless Korver gets hot. But a shooter isn't what they need. They need someone else who can create with the ball in his hands.

    I hope his agressiveness causes two things: 1. Trips to the foul line 2. Open shots when Miami closes Rose taking 30 shots isn't necessarily a problem, and if he gets to the line 12-15 times by doing so, and doesn't turn it over too much, it could be a big boost. We shall see, Miami D has been tough on him, and to some extent there just isn't going to be room to be aggresive.

    He started 37 games and actually played well. Bulls really got pretty lucky with him.

Obviously a lot of people don't. I don't need to be saved, but thanks. Comic Strip I did a quick skim back (and I'll emphasize quick because I buzzed and lazy), and while there was much complaining about refs, the only person to claim it was a deciding factor was SSR (obviously in a joking matter) If you think particular posters are silly for claiming the refs were deciding the game, thats one thing, but it seems that conclusion has been jumped to just because fans complain about calls.

    Forget any foul calls resulting in free throws and such. The Heat were fouling on rebounds all game without calls. That would be a big advantage for the Bulls otherwise. I'm not saying its the deciding factor in this game, but its still pretty awful.

    that person should be kicked in the throat. riley recruited two all stars to play there and then sat back and watched them win a bunch of games. what a genius. Its a silly award anyways. Are we awarding it for one great offseason? Building a team is a long process that involves years of planning in advance. If we were going to give it for just moves within a calendar year, it arguably could have been Walsh to get it. I mean for Gar to get it kind of means you are rewarding him for taking Rose 3 years ago, not to mention the salary planning he did for 2010 the past two years. Same for Riley. In my mind you're awarding him for bringing in Thibs, bringing over Omer, forming the bench mob, and of course stealing Scals from Boston James and Bosh > Those moves, save for Thibs Yea, you can try and discredit Riley by saying he lucked into it and it was the players who planned, but he put it together, luck or not. You can say the Bulls had better improvement in their results, but thats ignoring the huge leap Rose took. I mean its close, I don't know who I'd vote for if I had the opportunity. I may even vote for Walsh, as I said. Just seems odd to have a one season award for an executive, I don't know.

    Not to COMPLETELY jack this thread, but Arthur Andersen was bought off by Enron. I really doubt E&Y is being bought off by the NBA. Also, it's illegal for E&Y to both audit the NBA and consult for them now (thanks to the aforementioned AA). Then again, the NBA doesn't have to release their financial statements to the public... /grabs tinfoil hat /starts making sense of hccf posts Well thats not my understansing that any individual or AA was given direct payments, but rather ignored things because of their other business they were bringing and didn't want to lose (and then they shredded documents showing). So more like round about "buying off" by pressure to bring in business. But whether AA was bought off or not, its just not likely enough to be a believable scenario that NBA is buying off E&Y considering all thats changed since then, as you say. Sure it could happen, but from everything we know, including team representatives being present at the drawing, it doesn't pass any "smell test".
