  1. Well we're playing at a 9.6 win pace.
  2. Maybe, but wouldn't they have some motivation to go through the motions even if Girardi was looking certain, just to make it look like no tampering occurred.
  3. They outgained the Saints by over 100 yards. Had only one turnover, had a 200 yard receiver, and had a QB with a 128.1 rating. (Though admittedly QBR tells a different story on Jay.) You stat nerds are cute. Do you live in Ted Cruz' congressional district? I don't know. Is that a magical land where people care more about the final score than which team had better stats? Everyone is pissed about the loss but some live in a magical land where projecting future outcome relies on more than a small sample of past outcomes. Anyhow the only complaints we are allowed to make about Treastman that relate to his CFL days are 12 man penalties and 3rd down punts. Any other time someone brings up the CFL , they're just hopelessly trolling and /or meat balling.
  4. And as far as the other offensive upgrades, I don't think you can discredit coaches when FAs make decisions. Money will always be the biggest thing, but I wouldn't discount the fact that Bushrod followed his old OL coach here. Bennett I can't say for sure, but I believe the offseason before we showed interest in that TE from Sea and he chose to stay with them and Pete Carroll. I don't know specifically if it came down to coaching but realistically ask yourself if guys look at a turd like Tice and really wanna play for him as opposed to guys who get great reviews from players (like Carroll)
  5. Come on guys, it's not Mike Tice's fault that Mills and Long are just more talented. I mean other than the fact that Tice personally pulled for the Bears to draft Webb, was personally responsible for developing him, and had complete say over where he lined up. Other than that, Tice could do anything Kromer and Treastman could do! Actually no wait, I'm reasonably sure those guys can scheme better too, but other than that, he's just as equal. The "test" for Treastman is if he can be better than Turner who was sadly our best OC in a while and ran our highest rates offenses in the past two decades. I mean, it's not a high bar, but he's already shown enough to surpass the rest of the list barring some huge set backs from our current production.
  6. Worried I made the wrong call after Lucks 21 points but Pryor already with 17. Nice. And Jeffrey begging me to start him ( though Wallace and Jackson both had nice weeks their combined 29 points just edged out Jeffreys 27). I'm really enjoying my fantasy team this year.
  7. Tapatalk isn't working at all for me now. Not sure if it's because of this outdated issue or something else...
  8. I have no idea, but the Bulls aren't in salary cap mode. You cut Boozer's salary and your incremental gain is at best the MMLE to the MLE which is like $3M and possibly a little extra trade flexibility (would need to check exact figures). I forget exactly with the new CBA but maybe the BAE too, but that's only every two years anyways, can't be combined with MLE, and honestly might even still be available when over the apron - I'd have to check. The NBA is not the NFL, MLB, or NHL in regards to salaries. Oh I know, I get into it with Thunder fans who want to amnesty Perkins but don't realize that financially the team gains nothing, so it won't happen. But I can understand the frustration of knowing you can't upgrade from Boozer until his contract is up. Honestly even after his contract expires you can do much to upgrade unless you're willing to gut a significant portion if the team at the same time .

  10. Totally irrelevant. Boozer is definitely an asset and we'd be worse off without him with no means to replace him.
  11. Andrew Luck vs Sea Terrell Pryor vs SD Colts seem intent on running the ball and SD has given up the most QB points to date. Still not sure I pull the trigger on Pryor over Luck. And my weekly WR shuffle- pick two Dwayne Bowe v Ten Mike Wallace v Bal Alshon Jeffery v NO DeSean Jackson v NYG I have Wallace and Jackson ATM.
  12. Just heard Bob Brenly on The Score and referred to "Bad Starlin" vs "Good Starlin". Wait, there's been a good Starlin this year? Where?
  13. Are you figuring in the league wide TV money that's supposed to be in the area of 20-25M per team? Probably offset by our drop in revenue. Bring in Cargo and Tanaka and I'm guessing a lot of that lost revenue comes back. Doesn't matter in some ways. We can't show an operating loss at any point during a calendar year. Yes, we could up the payroll to 130 mill and be just fine with plenty of profitability at the end of the year- evidently we're just locked into a deal that keeps it from working that way. It really comes down to whether there is a way amortize the cost or not. There was a fairly large signing bonus given to Jackson last year, though will pale in comparison to a posting fee. I wonder how that was handled on the books.
  14. Swallowed by a black hole means I don't get to enjoy beating them when we're good again one day. Team wide Crabs will suffice.
  15. Why do you care about Boozers contract. It's not hindering the Bulls.
  16. Is there any reason I should be that excited about Girardi?
  17. 6 games over pythag, 2 dominant pen arms, but yeah, still seems off Just eyeballing it, the difference between us and them is Cano over Barney at 2B and the best closer ever.
  18. Wait, did that team really win 85 games. What am I missing?
  19. Never done fantasy hockey but I'll throw my hat in the ring.
  20. So... It's our fault were losers but we can't play with a manager who is a loser, so he's collateral damage for our failings and/or strategy to suck. Ok. So he was probably always a placeholder.
  21. Well I remember Bosio being pretty close to Sveum, and it seemed Sveum had to convince him to come on. So I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves . Still, it's a managers job to assemble a staff (maybe their most important job responsibility honestly) , so if the new guy can't get someone to do an adequate job to replace the staff, we hired the wrong guy. Rowson has to be gone too, considering Castro's decline, right?
  22. Baseball adds two playoff spots: Incentive to tank increases. Sorry I'm not seeing it and since the new CBA I'm not seeing some huge increase in bottom dweller sell offs. There do seem to be a few more buyers though.
  23. If that's it for the signings, it doesn't matter what we do for this season because the same amount isn't getting us [expletive] on MLB players. But since we're presumably fielding a team for the next 5 years after next, that's okay.
  24. What was Darvish's total contract? I'm thinking 100/6 total for Tanaka sounds okay. 55mil for the bid and 45/6 for the contract? Is that reasonable?
  25. Ricketts had to rack up a lot of airline miles flying to Florida to convince Mesa to do so. Business class isn't cheap.
