As discussed before I think with those guys bunched in that 20-35 range you have a shot one falls within range to trade up in Round 2. So even better to just grab the best defensive player in Rd 1.

Vitters followed by Cabrera and Ramirez (in either order) for me. Odd since Cabreras Cub career has a real good shot of ending soon, but if he stays this area seems appropriate. No, Papa Johns is still okay (hello, Garlic Butter Sauce). The closest you can get to bad pizza is St Louis style. But even then it's like, usually fine. And I like Giordano's the best of the Chicago Stuffed/Deep Dish styles. But even Chicago thin crust blows away all other pizzas I've ever eaten.

I gave up after 3. But even with all the pages of texts that still not the full findings presumably, so might as well wait for the official report before I flip my thoughts one way or the other.

5 spots could still make a difference, but I'd be fine losing a 4th also.

Man if you can get an impact player at 14 and only spend a 5th to trade up several spots in the second (assuming someone you like is in striking distance) I'd be all about that over trading down to late first to get a couple extra picks.

He'll I've seen Jernigan mocked all the way to our 14 pick. And I think Long shows Emery's not going to drop down if he think the value is right. I'm pretty confident they can score a lot of depth and rotation players in FA. I'd actually rather see us stay at 14 and also trade up in the second round if a guy like Donald or Jernigan is falling and try and get two impact players with those first two picks. What did the Alshon Jeffrey trade up cost, a third or a fourth?

I think we're all jumping the gun a bit to even think one rebounded season of Castro gets us an interesting package.

I haven't researched enough to know the drop off of talent but I feel one impact defender will be there at our spot . Not sure about 30 and I'd rather get the impact guy.

Is there a good site for minor league splits? Are we sure either if these guys are only lefty mashers and not moderately successful against both sides?

Does he smell like cabbage? Presumably but we may have to wait for private workouts since I do t think the combine has included that test yet.

I've read some other down opinions on him. Supposedly he has small hands so you may see his value fall a but after the combine.

Also I know he has had his issues there but are we sure if he was in any other organization he wouldn't still be viewed as a 3B prospect? I mean it's basically never too late to become a LF so if Baez/Bryant/Olt/Villanueva/Valbuena don't exist, I think they're still trying to eek out 3B value from Vitters.

Having sat in the rooftops before I really don't even think a slightly blocked view hurts their business model that much.

To think that veteran FA pitchers give two [expletive] about the rankings of 20 year prospects is a bit of a stretch. Baseball veterans hate young players. They aren't putting their future in the hands of kids. But they also like money, right? Or am I totally off base, here? They'll put their futures in the hands of a stacked young team that is the high bid for their services. Even with TV money the problem is the Cubs being outbid. We can say with some certainty they'd be involved on a top young FA pitcher, but are they going to go for it all even if it means going outside their comfort level? It was the Yankees this time. Maybe it won't be them again, but the Dodgers or some other team is always gonna be in play. LA and NY just may switch off every year and outbid us each time.
